Software Description
Produce professional audio CDs to Red Book specification with CD Architect 5 software. Newly updated version 5.2 includes CD text reading and writing, and updated drive support. Perform full PQ code editing, trim events from full-length media and add as new tracks, import regions from Sound Forge software as tracks, master audio by applying over 20 real-time DirectX effects to events and the master output, and perform disc-at-once CD burning.
CD Architect software provides the most precise audio CD mastering and burning tools available. Arrange your CD Architect project using simple drag-and-drop operations. Produce complex crossfades and DJ-style megamixes. Generate multiple takes of a song to use in your project before burning. Create live-style CDs with audio in the time between tracks, apply volume envelopes and event ASR envelopes – even create hidden tracks. CD Architect software supports a long list of drives, including many FireWire and USB devices.

Before this, the least expensive I found this rather essential package was $249 at buy.com or $299 at MusiciansFriend.com.

what software to get
i just installed a 12x8x32 cd-rw drive and i want to find software that allows me to both organize and directly burn my audio files at my max rec. speed. are there any free applications that allow up to 12x burning? thanks.

I am looking for cd making software that has the following features; 1) Must be able to make both data & music cd's 2) Must be able to record music from a variety of sources such as a turnrable or cassette tape. 3) Must have a "pitch control" I.E. I want to be able to either speed a cd up or slow it down. In other words if I hear a song on the radio and it sounds slightly faster than the cd I have at home. I want to be able to vary the speed of a cd while I am recording it to a "greatest hits" cd. Will I be able to then take this cd and play it in my car and have the same effect as on the cd program in the computer. Can I do this ? Or is this something that I can only do with my turn table?

It's a nice program. You can set up a track list. Drag & drop in any sequence you prefer. Make crossfades anywhere you want. Normalize so all the songs are the same volume. You MUST HAVE A SCSI BURNER. IDE burners don't work. I was able to import songs from cd architect into Cakewalk version 9, and then burn to an HP IDE burner. However, when you put it into a normal cd rom player, it only shows up as 1 track. A great little program if you can afford the scsi interface with scsi burner & hard drive.

Most CD burners have software upgrades that you can use to access *.MP3 files. HP burners can use the Easy CD creator 4.0. Good luck

windows 2000 doesn't work with my burner
CDA and Win2k doen't seem to recognize my yamaha 6416 burner.
