Software Description

DDClip is the professional non-linear non-destructive multitrack real-time audio and video editor for Windows95/98/NT. Outstanding feature of the editor is the speed of the playback, especially for its audio part - DDClip is able to mix sound tracks in real time. DDClip is especially effective for video clips scoring, creating audio commercials, synchronizing voice with music.

You can create, save, restore and playback a project of many tracks. Track can have unlimited number of clips. Clip contains a reference to a continuous fragment (or whole content) of audio or/and video data from source file. DDClip is non-destructive editor, it does not change source multimedia files. Master volume and balance can be set for whole project, each track and each clip. Moreover, clip may have its own volume and balance profile. Each track has solo/mute toggles. DDClip has intuitive user interface. Operations and features are easily accessible on toolbar, menus and context-sensitive local menus. Application supports multilevel undo/redo.

DDClip Free is Freeware application. It has one video and 4 audio tracks, supports most popular audio formats, has 10 undo/redo levels.

Can't find the .avi!

I used DDClip in 1998 to make a short video with sound and I have the .PRT file and the .TML file but don't have the .AVI file. Apparently,I saved the wrong items. Is there a way to re-create the AVI with the existing files ?

Invalid Destination Drive fix for WinXP

For anyone who's getting the 'invalid destination drive' error message, try running the DDClip Setup installer in Win95 compatibility mode. To do this right-click on the Setup.exe file, select Properties and then click on the Compatibility tab.

Click the checkbox 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:', and select 'Windows 95' from the pull-down menu.

This worked for me and I hope it will for others since the DDClip writers are too bloody lazy to provide any fixes or workarounds for themselves.

viruses?

what are the risk of viruses after this is downloaded or is it virus free?

Re: WHY THE HELL DOES IT KEEP SAYING

I've sometimes been able to install ddclip 2.23 on my desktop and laptop, both of which run Win2K. Usually this happens when I've been downloading or recording huge audio files and my disk is way fragmented. Just a couple of days ago I was able to reinstall it, after weeks of getting nowhere. Using Norton SpeedDisk's optimization map, it looks like most of the (little) free space on the drive is at the beginning. Maybe try filling up as much of your drive as you can before you run the install program. Just keep trying, you might get lucky! :-)

: : This is driving me nucking futz!!! I'm trying to set up my freeware, and it keeps on saying "Invalid Destination Drive". I've already spent 4 hours straight trying to figure out what this is all about. Can someone help me?

: Down near the bottom of the page, it says ... won't install on very large drives in XP, then it describes a large drive ( > 2 GB !!!! )

: The free version is really the old obsolete one apparently.

Re: WHY THE HELL DOES IT KEEP SAYING

It's not a high-tech fix, but if you can install DDClip to a ZIP drive it works.

I've used DDClip in the past (mixing some live guitar with scored music I did on Mozart) and had decent results.

I think it's worth the trouble, even if you have to dig an old small HD to get it in.

Question

Does this program have the ability to screw and chop songs? Is it possible with this program? If so, then, what are the technical terms for screwing and chopping for this program? Does screw mean, pitch/time/tempo/stretch? Does chop mean, cut/truncate? If anyone has info on this, please let me know. Thanks.

Great value!

This is a good program that does a few basic things, allowing you to replace the old 4 track recorder. Great stuff!

installation

I downloaded the freeware program but when I tried to install it
it asked me to put in a disk. obviously I did not have one
because it is a freeware program.

Just browse to where the installation program is on your hard drive and select that. Every once in a while a downloadable program will ask you that, I'm not sure why.

Re: installation

Likewise. Ah well, hard to complain when it's a freebie.
