I`ve installed directx 7, since then its managed to cock up just about every application that used it. None of my games work anymore and I cant seem to clear it and install an older version. It appears that many of the files needed by games from DirectX 7 are missing when infact if you check they are there :-(

Can anybody give me any advice on how to resolve this problem?

Were you using Windows 95 or 98 ? How did you
solve the problem in the end ? If you solved it
by uninstalling DirectX 7.0 how did you do that ?

I didn't fucking want DirectX 7. I've got it, and now I can't fucking get rid of it. And a lot of my software won't run with it.

So I did an internet search for DirectX 6.1, and this site shows up. But it doesn't have DirectX 6.x, it has Direct X 7.
