Software Description
icecast is an internet audio broadcasting system based on Mpeg audio technology. It allows almost anyone to broadcast an audio stream to as many people as their bandwidth can support.
icecast was created in January of 1999 by Jack Moffitt and Barath Raghavan to provide an open source audio streaming server that anyone could modify, use, and tinker with. It is developed under the GNU General Public License by many people scattered around the globe. It is compatible with shoutcast and is in constant development.
This version contains security updates and network fixes for streams over 160kbps. It should also help with the stuttering problem some users have reported.
