Software Description

Enter any typical jazz chord chart and the JSSS program will analyze your chord changes using artificial intelligence techniques and suggest commonly used scales for your solos.

Covers the following scales:

  • Major
  • Natural Minor
  • Harmonic Minor
  • Jazz Minor (aka Melodic Minor)
  • Pentatonic
  • Blues
  • Diminished
  • Whole Tone
  • Seventh (aka Mixolydian mode)
  • Dorian

The Jazz Scale Suggester System has a fine-tuned search engine with roughly 100 patterns used to evaluate your chord progressions.

In this version:

  • The program now considers chord length for imported files. Previously, all scale suggestions were based strictly on the sequence of chords
  • Significant fine tuning and bug fixes resulting from many hours of research and experimentation

Melodic Minor

This program never suggests the use of the melodic minor. Ashame.

Not bad

its not bad but could have been better. It doesnt give a really good suggestion of scales and some advance chords are not included but other than that its not bad

Re: access to shareware music machine

Aidan,

There might have been a case of a server being down, but this link just worked when I tried it.
Let me know if it still doesn't work please. I might have to complain to my provider.

In any case the program can be accessed via link herein.

Just FYI -- I've worked this problem out with you, but
for the benefit of anyone else reading this at Hitsquad ---
The problem was that some computers don't have
all of the Microsoft components needed by the
JSSS program. The components have now been added
to the full download. In addition, anyone
experiencing this problem can also download just
the (previously) missing Microsoft components
from my web site. Sorry for any inconvenience.
If anyone is still experiencing a variation of this
problem I would greatly appreciate being informed.
THANK YOU!
