Software Description

The mpeg audio engine is based on mpg123; however, the end result is a player that uses less CPU than the console-only mpg123 on many systems. In addition, the user may configure Kmp3 to work with EsounD and ALSA along with processor specific optimizations. Sporting an attractive, easy-to-use and full-featured GUI, Kmp3 is suitable for practically anyone.

I’m looking for some UNIX-based software (currently we use KDE? but I really know nothing about operating systems) that would allow me to simultaneously play/control 4 discrete channels of stereo audio (4 different MP3 files) through separate sound cards. Can this be done?
