Software Description

The MP3Archivist is a media player which has been designed particularly for archiving audio files, for example on a CD-ROM. If the audio files are correctly stored on the medium including cover and text files, the MP3Archivist allows easy and comfortable accessing of these files.

The audio files are stored in subdirectories, as complete CDs for example. If you open the root folder to which they have been stored, the program scans for all audio, image and text files. It creates buttons for each subdirectory containing audio files, and displays the thumbnail stored in the same directory on the button (or the name of the subdirectory if there is no thumbnail). A click on the button starts playback of all files in the subdirectory.

Moreover, the context menu of each button contains not only the commands for playback of all files in normal and shuffle mode, but also allows the playback of the individual files.

Additional commands enable you to browse the subdirectory with the Windows Explorer, to view the image and text files, to consult the help file, and to program the player. When programming, not only the tracks in the current subdirectory but all tracks stored in all subdirectories can be included.

Using the preferences window you can adjust both the user surface and the functionality of the MP3Archivist to your taste.
