Phonotron 1 allows the creation of melodies using
natural (formant preserving) pitch shifting. This application will allow you
take samples of human voice, trumpets, or other sounds where there is
resonance in a tract, and work with pitch shifts to create melodies that
would sound like the real thing. The software also allows you to change the
colour of the sound - change male to female, trumpets from muted to bright,
and keep the pitch. You can also use crude 'morphs', pitch-preserving time
stretch, pitch detection, quantisation and other features.
