Software Description

Plany is a program that is meant to be used as a front end to "real" music players. It recursively scans a directory given on the command line, or uses it's own database. Plany will also examine files that end in .zip, .lha, .lzh, .gz, .tgz, and .tar and will add any names found in those files to the selection list, which can then be easily played.

Features include: the ability to recognize MOD, S3M, and midi file formats and spawn an external player who's output is shown in a separate window; the ability to rate a song; juke-box style playback; 2 different styles of sorting; searching; and more. Easily Configurable for more formats.
