Software Description

PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor is designed to digitize sound recordings of music cassette tapes, vinyl LPs, or videos so they can be recorded onto CD. All you need is a multimedia Windows PC with a CD burner and CD burning software, and with PolderbitS audio processing software you can transfer vinyl records to cd. Move all of your old recordings onto your PC by converting them into digital sound files.

The PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor can also be used for additional sound recording and editing tasks like recording for example streaming Internet audio, meetings and interviews, editing sound files created with other software, or converting WAV sound files to MP3 and vice versa.

New in v5.0 build 93

  • The possibility to Select/Deselect All, or to invert the selection of tracks in the the Save Tracks window of the Editor.
  • The Editor now remembers the last save-as-type and sound quality for existing recordings you opened for editing.
  • An ID3V1 mp3-tag is now included in mp3 files when saving multiple tracks, using the given Track and Album name.
  • Hitting the spacebar to restart recording did not work after a recording was discarded.
  • To avoid feed-back, the Recorder does not touch speaker volume or muting anymore when the Microphone sound source is selected (to avoid possible feed-back).
  • If the once selected sound mixer to record from is no longer available, the Recorder now tells you about it instead of silently selecting whatever sound mixer is still present.
  • In case you reduce the Windows desktop size, both the Recorder and Editor windows now make sure to remain visible.
  • The Wave view in the Editor would sometimes show red-colored garbage if the "Show removed clicks in red" option was ticked in the Click filter before the Advanced section was closed.
  • When defining a new Cut-Start point in the Editor, the Cut-End point is now always set a bit ahead initially.
  • When playback stops at the end of a track in the Editor, clicking on Play again now commences at the start of next track instead of first silently crossing the space in between the tracks.
  • On the day of switching to or from Daylight Savings Time, the duration set in the Recording Timer now doesn't jump off by one hour anymore.
  • The Recorder now warns if Skype is running, and opts to close it to stop it from interfering with sound source selections.
  • Setup now places the Recorder and Editor desktop shortcut icons on the desktop of all user accounts that are used in Windows.
  • Setup now creates the Program Menu entries on Windows 98 correctly.

Problems with recording speed

When I record from magnetophone to wave file the record sounds afterwards as if a disk is played at higher revolutions.
Also I can see that the time counter is running lower than normal.

This happened in the beginning only from time to time but now I can hardly make a normal record.
What is going wrong with my PolderbitS ?

recorder

I purchased the Polderbits wav recorder sometime ago and have found it absolutely terrific. Only problem is my computer went bang on me - along with my Polderbits recorder - and I have just had to a purchase a new computer. Obvious question: can my bought and paid for wav recorder be downloaded again to my new computer so that I can continue enjoying the delights it has to offer? Look forward to hearing from you.

Recording Radio

I have found out that it is possible to record directly radio music obtained by Internet
with programs like Musik Match. To do this I select just select "wave"-input for recording
so that I can hear and record the music at the same time.

However, from time to time some strange echo-like effect disturbs the music. I would like
to know if this is related to the PolderbitS recorder, to some trick of the station or perhaps
to a problem of my computer. Is there any way to avoid this?

line level to CD

Does anyone know of a program (preferably shareware) that will burn line level input (say from a tape deck) to a CD?

Re: line level to CD

: Does anyone know of a program (preferably shareware) that will burn line level input (say from a tape deck) to a CD?

Excellent Program & User Friendly

After trying several connections, I got it to work by connecting the cable into the headphone jack on the stereo and the microphone jack on the PC. "This is too simple, I must be doing something wrong," I said. But ... IT WORKS! One problem - I must copy song by song. Oh well ... I'll take it anyway! Excellent Program

regarding the reg #'s

Why dont you all just buy the program
Its cheap enough.
These people work hard to develop programs So that we all can enjoy our music.

Re: regarding the reg #'s

I totally agree. You've tried the trial version so you know it works. Try to find a similar software package for $12. Buy the program so that the makers can make money for developing this software package.

Re: regarding the reg #'s

I lost a hard drive 2 weeks after I bought this program. When I went to reinstall it, the registration number did not work any longer. The number is good for a one time install only. Another $12 I don't think so.

RE: problems recording wav files

I think I recorded the files properly but I cant find the temp folder they were supposedly stored in(according to the manual). I got thoroughly confused as to how to save the files as they went to the correct folder I assigned but each file was only about 3 or 4 seconds long. No problem with that as i will use cdwav, which I'm used to, but I need to know where the original wav files were put. Any ideas to help? thanks
Craig

Re: RE: problems recording wav files

Craig, if you're a pc user, go to start, find, files or folders, on the named field type *.wav. This will search your hard drive for all files with the wav extension.

Re: Don't know how to get started with downloading.

Hit the download link. Select save this file. Save it in a location of you choice. (For PC user) Once it's saved, go to start, run, locate the file and install.

Re: Don't know how to get started with downloading.

I Think you're a BIMBO!

Re: Don't know how to get started with downloading.

Thanks for your comment, Knight!

It shows your lack of intellect.

well first of all, why did you convert it into wave, i always record mp3. second of all, using disc at once or track at once may cause defects on a cd. what burning program do you use? use nero, its great.

i'm gonna be famous !!!!

thanks to this sweet site and all of tis stuff, im gonna be famous!!!!

Great Program

If you're like me, you think any testimonial here is by someone who works for the developer and any flame is from an employee of one of the developer's competitors. And also if you're like me, you download and use or discard but never take the time to go back and comment, but I felt moved to do so for this program, cuz I've been so pleased after downloading a couple other turkeys (that Rosoft, adware, useless piece of crap, e.g.) and after netsearching for a month to have found this bit of shareware, which is fully functional for two weeks before you have to register

Now, I don't know about other applications, but I have been using it to tape off my cassette deck onto my laptop and then burn onto an external CD. It works great. Everything I wanted to do (unlimited track length, auto or manual track setting and naming) I could do. One very useful feature is a timer to let you let your deck and PC record while you're off doing other stuff.

I don't work for the company. I think they're Dutch, or else from the UK, and I'm from USA..

RE: Jason - email me please

Jaosn- would you email me as I need to ask you a couple of questions. I'm a computer klutz and you seem to really like this program.
Thanks

minidisc

can i put my arranged mp3 files onto a mini disc using a sony mini disc player with a pc connection?

Re: minidisc

: can i put my arranged mp3 files onto a mini disc using a sony mini disc player with a pc connection?

Re: minidisc

No, Sony minidisc format is audio only. They have a compressed featur4e in newer minisc players that claim to play mp3 but this is still is audio only. A Hint to Sony... Maybe Sony can make a data version of their recorder/players for us then we can store mp3s on minidisc just like those cd/mp3 players. Your thoughts. Omar
