Software Description

RipCast is an application that allows you to connect to various SHOUTcast compatible servers/broadcasters and save the streaming audio to one or more MP3's. RipCast deciphers metadata allowing you to split songs by title. RipCast comes with RipCast Agent, a utility that allows you to easily download from streams you find in your web browser. It also builds and organizes your MP3 collection with an easy to use interface and allows you to browse for the type of music you like. The Station Browser gives you central access to thousands of streaming audio stations that can be recorded with a single click. You can select a genre and are then presented with a list of currently available audio streams as well as the currently playing item. You can select the ones that interest you and then start recording them and saving to disk as MP3 files. As each MP3 downloads it can be automatically added to your Winamp playlist for easy listening while you download. Additional features include: eight simultaneous downloads, auto track splitting, auto-ID3 tagging, favorites manager, various streaming modes, HTTP proxy support, bandwidth monitoring and many more.

New features include... sintegrates with Winamp 2.x & 3.x, download up to EIGHT stations at the same time; premium service support (HTTP Authentication), proxy support; auto-ID3 tagging; many stability & compatibility fixes; and much more.

Please note that distributing your recorded streams may be illegal in some cases. A lot of streams are encoded as streams so they cannot be saved or distributed.
