Tapeutape is a midi-controlled virtual sampler.It is highly configurable,lets you create instruments/kits/setups and is designed for live performance.It works on Gnu/Linux with the jack sound server. There's a command-line and a gui version. It is released under the GNU General Public Licence.

Loads wav,aiff,flac files (and all the audiofile formats handled by libsndfile)
High quality resampling(using libsamplerate)
Build instruments and kits
Velocity layers (variations) for each instrument
Pitch scaling (or not) over range of notes
Build setups for realtime kit selection with midi CC.
Samples triggered by midi notes
3 play modes (normal, trigger, repeat)
As many audio stereo outputs as you want, choose the output for each instrument
Set the cut/by for each instrument
Configuration is made with a .tap file (xml syntax)
