Software Description

WAVmaker turns MIDI files of virtually unlimited polyphony and complexity into CD-quality WAVs with perfect timing precision, using fully editable instrument patches and samples of virtually unlimited size, without the noise and distortion introduced by conventional recording: the rendering process is performed entirely in the digital domain, independently of your sound hardware. In fact, you don't even need a sound card to run WAVmaker! The WAVs produced are ready to be burnt on CD, uploaded to a website or processed further (e.g. mixed with recorded vocals). All registered WAVmaker packages include the GSound 44 General MIDI and GS instrument library: a CD-ROM with full, ready-to-use GM and GS sets consisting of 3+ MB PRG patches and 261+ MB 44.1 kHz, 16 bit WAV samples! WAVmaker Plus adds a Mellosoftron key for easy patch creation/editing and real time performance. WAVmaker Studio also includes an Ace of WAV key for advanced sound editing and synthesis.

Is there a program SOMEWHERE that will:
a) convert midi to wav files without needing an audio engineer or professional muso background?
b) a program that can strip vocals off a wav or mp3 file (again, without being a techie)?
Please assure me that I'm not alone here!!!

yeah i agree..this program they provide really sucks bad, i gave up..just another peice of shit i have to take out of my computer. *frustrated* i've tried about 10 different programs, and none of them work properly, or they are demo's and won't allow you to save.

There is a great program called Sound Recorder. Here is how it works:

1. Go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Sound Recorder.
2. Open up your Sound Card's mixer and set the recording device to "What you Hear"
This forces the sound created by your sound card BACK into your sound card
3. Play the MIDI
4. Hit record on Sound Recorder.

You're done!

I need to know how to convert some old tapes into CD. I have a burner but I don't know how and what kind of software to use to get these tapes into wav files for my CDR.

DUDE, ALL YA GOTTA DO IS GET A STEREO JACK WITH TWO MALE ENDS AND PLUG ONE END INTO THE WALKMAN AND THE OTHER INTO YOUR SOUNDCARD. JUST USE THE WINDOWS98 SOUNDRECORDER AND THAT IS ALL YOU NEED

I have tried this method but i can record upto 1 minute maximum and lots of noise is coming during record. I am not sure how to record using without noise....???

Winamp IS an mp3-wav converter. In preferences, choose 'output' and set it to 'Disk Writer'.
