WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER ALWAYS INSERTS GAPS BETWEEN TRACKS WHEN YOU

Posted by Jerry Short on Sat, 04/05/03 - 08:12:31.

I have Windows XP and the Windows Media Player 9 does one really annoying thing. I have many CDs on my media library that consists of dance tracks that mix thru to the next track. If I try to burn these, my Media player always inserts a 2 second gap between the tracks so towards the end of one track, you start to hear the next track mixing thru', then there is a 2 sec gap of silence, then the next track starts. This is so annoying. Does anyone know how to stop this ? Any answers gratefully received

Jerry

As far as I know, you can't without some heavy code modification.

In order to burn cd's with gapless tracks, you need a piece of software that's capable of doing a "disc-at-once" burn.

EZCD Creator, Nero, and just about any standalone burning application can do this. Windows Media Player does not, at least not the current versions (perhaps in the future).

There's lots of cheap options (30 bucks) on the web.
Do a google search for "CD Burning Applications" and you'll get at least a couple of pages with reviews, links and prices.
