Software to combine voice and music recordings

Posted by Donna on Sat, 04/19/03 - 20:23:24.

I want to record my voice using the microphone that came with my 1yr old Dell computer. I would then like to copy some music from a different source, and somehow put my voice recording on top of the music recording.

When finished I want the final product to sound like I was talking with the music playing in the background. I will then burn the final product onto a music CD that I can play in my car.

I have ZERO experience with music / recording software so I need something EASY and not too expensive.

1. What software can help me do this?
2. Is it easy to use?

Can you help my find a solution for this recording problem?

Thanks
Donna

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please can you tell me if you know about some music stores in Chicago Illinois. Like downtown in Chicago. I don't have anything not even a microphone. I think that it will all be there.

Thank you very much.
Nicole
