I don't know the name or artist of this song but please help me

Hi. I love this song but I don't know who recorded it or the name. It's an older song possibly from the '60s or early '70s. I think it was recorded by a band from England. This song is also in a movie from '91 called Truly, Madly, Deeply. (The movie was made in England). Some of the lyrics: loneliness is a cloak you wear...I don't want to cry anymore ...when I'm without you. - It was sung by a male...but I don't know who...Please help me find this song!!!

I also need to find a song that I love. I have heard it on the radio recently on one of the Top 40 stations. The chorus goes, "Seems to me that maybe, pretty much always means no..." The artist is male. Please, please, please!
