Hi folks
A friend of mine wants to do some recording on his Windows PC. What would be the equivalent of Apple's Garageband on the Windows platform? Garageband can do midi sequencing, with factory-only groove quantization, velocity control piano scroll and standard notation but only allows for one tempo... among other minor shortcomings fora consumer suite.
Garageband also does digital audio recording, comes with a moderate of quite acceptable (some damned good) host of virtual instruments and prefabbed loops, and some pretty nice effects.
So, given the soup-to-nuts nature of Garageband, what would you folks recommend for him that would do the same thing?
Thanks! |
