To transfer vinyl LP records or audio cassettes to CD, you will need to take a couple of steps. First of all, you will need to record the LP/tape as one large .wav file (you have to make sure there is enough free hard drive space as it will be fairly large wave files!).

You can use Internet Audio Mix (found at http://www.acoustica.com ), to record the LP/tape as a wave file or LP Recorder http://www.cfbsoftware.com.au/. You will need to create one big wave file for each side of the LP/tape. Then you will need LP Ripper http://www.cfbsoftware.com.au which automatically splits the file into a separate WAV file for each track (it senses gaps between the tracks and cuts the wave into separate audio files). From there, you may either encode the songs to MP3 format or you can burn the wave files directly using MP3 CD Burner. http://cdburner.com .

Recap:
1. Convert the LP/tape to a wave file (see above sites for recording software)
2. Use LP Ripper to cut the wave into separate tracks.
3. Burn as .wav directly using MP3 CD Burner.

On my own pc I have voyetra. If you start it up you get (the picture of)a sort of audio tower, with in it a cd player, a sound mixing panel and a WAV file player/recorder. Of course you need an audio chart. I record my casettes via the microphone jack on the backsite of my pc, and play casettes with my sony walkman. The results are good, I only need stereo earjackplugs + lead
to record stereo. With voyetra you can record (Convert)analog sound to digital to .wav files witch you can record (burn) to an cd.(not the same time - for burning you must use a different program - not possible with v.) There are much simular programs like voyetra. One is built in in windows (98) but it will only as far as i know allow recs up to 60 secs and mono.
