Whoever is asking if you can burn cds only using a cd-rom drive my answer is no you can't. A cd writer has to be purchased in order to create an audio cd. They go as low (that I know of) as $180. But, you get what you pay for. HP is probably the best. Don't get a cd writer that writes to fast of speed though. If that's the case, than you can wind up with a skipping cd b/c it wrote is too fast. Best is 4x or 6x.

obviously not.
you need the hardware more than nething else.
all a normal CD drive does is read, it is passive, it can't do anything to the CD, a burner can actually burn tracks on to specially open CDs and they will be actively saved onto the CD.

well,

i tryed an idea like this once, but it involved putting cds data side up, back to back in a microwave for 3 mins, WELL!!! it blew the shit out of my microwave and fucked two good cds's

NEVER TRY THIS!!!!
