Awave Studio is a multi-purpose audio tool that reads 300 audio file formats from different platforms, synthesizers, trackers, mobile phones, ... - It can be used in a variety of ways - as a file format converter, as an audio editor, or as a synth instrument editor. I found these old messages searching for a converter, and not much else, so when I found a way to do it, I thought I'd post it here in case someone else was trying to find out and only comming up with these messages..

Pretty much, you need access to a Mac - that's the only way I could find to do it for free.

Download the DSS Player for Mac from Olympus, run it, load your DSS file, then choose "conver to AIFF"

Once it's done, you can copy the AIFF to your PC and use any software that can access AIFF files. I don't think you should have trouble finding software to do that. CoolEdit Pro 2 is one off the top of my head, but I think there's a zillion out there..

is there any way to convert back to DSS from either AIFF or WAV? I have been looking all over for something to let me do this and have been unsuccessful. please help!

I have a Casio Keyboard CTK-731. I can save my samples and patterns onto a floppy in the keyboard itself in a .smf format (smf stands for short or small midi file).
I want to know if there is a converter that helps me convert .smf files to .wav and vice versa.

SMF files should be the same as a .MID files - so Awave Studio should be able to do that for you. Including doing batch conversions of many files!

If You Have Cubase Or Cakewalk You should beabe to open the midi File And Choose 0 Format If U Don't I Have a Usefull Format changing Programe U Can Use & i allso Have A CTK-620L so it should work fine

I have a Casio WK-3500 and heaps of midi files in SMF1 format that I want to convert to SMF0 so I can play these on my casio. I read you have a program that can help. Can you please email me this program, as well? Choice if you can.

Hi,

have the same Keyboard and I just use Cakewalk to convert the SMF1 files. But wish I could find a soft that can convert the files by batch.
