PreSonus unveils Studio One Version 2

PreSonus unveils Studio One 2, bringing with it a huge update to their DAW program and will be shipping on November 1st, 2011.

Studio One v2 brings in more enhancements and features to the already extensive capabilities of PreSonus Studio One. From simple organization enhancements to a new quick find feature, Studio One 2 aims to improve your efficiency and workflow. It also offers better track editing options, easier multi-track comping, quicker transient editing and simpler groove extraction. The PreSonus Studio One version 2 with its new features and enhanced plug-in collection will take your music production experience to a new level.

The most notable upgrade for PreSonus Studio One 2 is arguably the new Melodyne Integration, Celemony's Melodyne now acts like a part of Studio One 2. With one click, your audio opens in the Editor with the familiar Melodyne interface and capabilities. Hear your Melodyne edits in context with the rest of the arrangement, and when finished editing, easily render the audio in placeā€”no track transfer or manual rendering! Edits and changes made are seamlessly synced into Melodyne via the ARA technology of Celemony.

There are three different flavors of Studio One 2, the first one is the Studio One Artist which is the entry level flavor, has all the basic features -MIDI recording, Core Audio and audio editing. It also comes with a number of 32-bit plug-ins and virtual instruments and imposes no limits unlike other entry level DAW. The middle level flavor is called Studio One Producer which adds in support for MP3 export/import, ReWire and VST/AU plug-ins. It also has some additional third party content along with all the features found in Studio One Artist.

Studio One Professional is the third and top level flavor which has all the features of both Artist and Producer plus other advanced features. It has the "Product Page" mastering solution built in. It comes with a fully licensed Melodyne Essential for pitch correction. It has SoundCloud integration, Red Book CD burning and video playback / sync. Finally, it has additional five Native Effects plug-ins: Groove Delay, Multiband Dynamics, OpenAIR, Pipeline, and IR Maker.
