Re: Do you need a Mp3 to CD converter ???

Well...if you have a CD burner (obviously you do or you wouldn't be asking this question) All you need to do is convert your MP3 to a wav file. Burn it onto your Cd in the wav format and chose to Close Session after you have burnt all the wav files that you want to include on your audio CD. The CD Burner program you use should automatically convert them to cda format after closing the session out. BUT Make sure you have ALL your wav files burnt BEFORE you close out the session as CD Audio players will only read a CD by session. I use Easy CD Creator by Adaptec. If that is the program you are using....e-mail me if you have any more questions. rhonda@grcservices.com

Mac Stereo Recording

I am trying to locate some recording software for a Mac 8100 to record stereo audio at 44.1K using either the host audio, a Digi audioMedia II card, or a Digi SA-4 audio card with the external 4X4. I need to be able to fade in and out also.

What program for Mac is similar to SAW Plus?

I produce and record Radio Theater plays with my students.
After seeing recording done with SAW Plus a local community
radio station, I would like to record using a computer,
rather than the primitive tape set up I have now. I know
from nothing, but I will figure it out. I also will be buying
a new computer.Though I could use the SAW Plus program if I
bought a PC, I am partial to Mac's. Either way I am open
to all suggestions.
Thanks,
Jennifer

There are many others---->

There not exactly like Saw but they do the same thing record midi and audio. Iam partial to Logic audio, its the most professonal of the bunch.
If you have more questions post at: http://www.us.parsimony.net/forum/forum67/ . Its a very helpfull forum, i stumbled here by accident and usually reside there.

hummmm!

I've got Cakewalk Professional 7, a duplex sound card,
which is whatever comes with Compaq Presario's, a fairly
decent mike, and a tube mic pre-amp. My problem is a high
pitched whine whenever I record. Not real loud, but
very irritating. It's there when I record digital and
midi. I swear it sounds like the hard drive whirring!
Any thoughts? Similiar problems?

WAV Maker/Player

As hard as I may try to find the program which Compaq has installed in their PC's, I cannot find one similiar anywhere. The WAV Maker especially has several tools for recording, cutting, removel of various sounds etc while a sound wave which is somewhat like an oscillascope lets you see what your working with. The player part of it allows one to download onto a Diskette with no problem as a timer scale allows one to know exactly where you are. Also the Compaq Midi Maker/Player is special ...Q. Where and how can I get the programs. Compaq says that their Midi and Wav units cannot be installed in any PC except their own. HELP. Thanks, Ray

Re: WAV Maker/Player

OMG man! I have the same problem. I want to do that too. I've tried to instal my old Compaq Media Pilot from my old 486 onto my new specialty built ICCI 600mhz...It won't work, and I can't find a program like this! If any1 finds it, please tell me.

MacSpeaker

I want to touch with the author of the software.
Any body know how to get him?
Do any body know updated information for the
registration of the MacSpeaker?
Thanks,

What is the minimum system requirements to do high quality small

I want to know what is important for recording sound on a computer. How much
memory and disk space is required? what kind of sound card would you
recomend? What are the important specs to watch in
sound cards? Is Sound Blaster the way to go? why or why not? Is there something else that I
am missing that I need to be aware of?

I would realy apreciate any information you could give me, or any pointers or
recomendations that would get me going in the right direction.

Re: What is the minimum system requirements to do high quality s

Avoid the AWE 64, as it's particular mix of
hardware & software synthesis causes many problems: just look at some of the messages on these pages regarding problems with the AWE, especially if you use Cubase.SCSI hard discs
are preferred for audio recording, but a (large)
UDMA hard disc will do the job. Also the new PCI
sound cards don't tax the processor resources, so they are worth looking at. One last thing- the quoted mimimum specs required in the software
details are misleading: you always need higher specs in order to get these programs running
adequately.

Re: What is the minimum system requirements to do high quality s

This kind of question can cause quite a lot of confusion for people. You can spend $10,000 on a system or you can spend $1,000. It's really up to you. The first thing to do is know what kind of recording quality you want. If you're just going to lay down some demos and maybe MP3 them, you can use a program such as <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track Studio</a> to lay down your tracks. But to answer your question, if you're doing multitrack hard disc recording you might want to consider the following configuration:

* 32 Meg of RAM (64 Meg recommended)
* Hard disc - the larger the better if you are doing multi-track. If the average pop song can take up 50 Meg, think about how much space 8 audio tracks would take up if you recorded them in 16 bit stereo sound.
* Sound cards can cause a lot of debate but a full duplex, 16-bit sound card is the absolute minimum.

Remember, this is just a basic, low-budget system. There probably will be people who diagree with me. They're welcome to throw theor two cents in, we're all here to learn.

Cheers
Geoff

YES !!! I have the solution. You must use a PC formated 614K floppy disk and then you can do as usual as you want. It's fantastic ...

Re: CDA to WAV Conversion - Free Software?

A reliable program, but also slow, is CDEXBETA, it will do cda->.wav, cda->mp3, mp3->.wav and vice versa.

Music Sheets

I am looking for a computer program which will allow me to print sheet music. the program should allow me to print cords, time signature, and all other such notation. the ability to transpose wouldn't be amiss either. What do you suggest?

Re: HOW DO I CONVERT MP3 to AIFF(CD Audio)

On a Mac, you can export MP3 to aiff with movieplayer 2.5. Make sure you have the latest Quicktime installed, but use a prior version of Movieplayer. Or you can spend $30 to get the full version of Quicktime 4
