Re: Notation software

: I am looking for a system that will notate music I play on a keyboard and the ability to play it back. Ideally it would include instrumental arranging capability. What type of hardware and software do I need? HELP?

Bill,

I am using an inexpesive program called MusicTime Deluxe put out by GVOX. It has the a great sequencing progam and you can either put notes in via point-and-click or by keyboard.

$65.00 for the program at 4cds.com. You'll also need a good Soundcard. I am using the AWE64. Not sure of price...got mine with the PC.

Check out my stuff on the website...everything you hear is done on MusicTime. (beware...if you don't have your soundcard yet, it'll sound real funky!)

Good luck,
Dan

Give your music away for free AND make money

I recently gave a speech at the Cybeat 99 conference in Brisbane
Australia where I unveiled part of a new model for selling music
on the net.

The idea is to give your music away for free AND make money.

Copying Karaoke CD's

Can anybody offer me some help, I have tried to copy some Karaoke CD's, using CDRwin and according to this my Yamaha CR-RW is capable, but everytime I try, the software says it has worked yet the cd's are inaccessable when they finish. All I get is a error message says the drive in not ready.

Can anybody help as the hammer is at the ready.

Re: Copying Karaoke CD's

Visit a the following site: http://www.padus.com. They have great info regarding copying your Karaoke disks for backup. I have a TEAK cdr/wr (58E). This site said I might be able to back them up. It was no problem with the demo that I downloaded. I have read that you have to do it at 1X anyway as doing it faster will cause problems. Not sure if this is true. Anyway, this site has great info. Your question is old so I hope you get this answer.

Currently, there is no home software that will allow us to do this. The embedded encryption for the video and words and music are three separate things. When producing these, they use a special burner, not unlike what is used for DVD but a different format. Get ahold of one of those and your problem is solved. So in short, you can't copy them YET.. They said the same about DVD and not they are selling DVD writers..

Re: Copying Karaoke CD's

Try turning your burn speed down to 1x turn off "autoinsert", don't use cdrw's and by the way.. the software will copy but you will probably not be able to read them on your computer.. if you really want to know if your burner can copy these cd's go to mtu.com

Where can I download ReWire???

Re: Where can I download ReWire???

DON'T PANIC, REPEAT DON'T PANIC! You can now be reconnected...

ReWire2 just needs you to delete the old ReWire files off your computer... the instructions are in plain English on the Propellerhead website. Just go to the Reason Tech FAQ... enjoy!

Re: Problem, too

I Have Reason 1.0. It works perfect, one of the best!
Now, I wanted to get Reason on another Computer by sending
the Data via USB-Link.
When I now open reason, then comes the note:

"Can not open ReWire2 System. Please make
sure you have the right version installed"

So, I think when I have the ReWire version, then
it will work, or what ?

Re: Problem, too

I have the same problem too.

Ya me too, what the hell is going on here?

Re: Problem, too

La solucion aqui mismo:
Bajen este archivo
http://www.celemony.com/freedownloads/software/ReWire.dll.zip
descompriman, y tirenlo en las carpetas

c:\windows\system
c:\windows\system32

Guaaaaala! no mas problemas. Saludos.

Re: Problem, too

conversion of Yamaha Q3S files to Gen.Midi

I have some Q3S files on disk and I wish to play them on my Roland MT80 midi file player. I have computer with cakewalk software. Please help me find software to that can read Yamaha QY300 Q3S files.

a solution

If you are tranfering MIDI sequences you can set up cakewalk and your keyboard so cakewalk will record your sequences. You will have to check your Yamaha/cakewalk documentation and set your midi channels so you can record them properly. You are then going to want to use the Sync funtion in cakewalk to record at the same tempo. Then out of cakewalk you can export your file as a midi file. If you are using multiple tracks you will have to change your computer midi instruments after you tranfer in cakewalk.

Harmonizer for wav files??

Looking for good prog for harmonizing wav files (saxophone). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Harmonizer for wav files??

: Looking for good prog for harmonizing wav files (saxophone). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I know that Steinberg's WaveLab has a harmonizer
feature but it's kinda pricey. I think AnalogX
has program that will convert .wavs to a specified pitch. If it's not AnalogX then look on the software pages for Shareware that does it. i know i downloaded a program that converts wavs to desired pitch so it's gotta be out there

: DSP FX is a collection of DX plugins that you can use as such in cubase, cakewalk, soundforge etc., but uniquely, you can use it as a standalone application to apply to wave files or even live input. It includes pitch shifters and harmonisers with many presets. It'll do the job for you.

want to swap sample cd's

Hi all,
I have some sample cd's that i am sick and tired off, and i am always looking out for some new stuff. If anyone feels the same about their sample cd's and is interested in temporarily swapping cd's so we can benefit from some new sounds without having to pay big bucks, drop us a line. Of course, copying them is highly illegal, so there'll be none of that. This is simply to 'get the taste' of some new sounds.

80 minute cd's are readily available and will play in any cd recorder. Don't be told otherwise

I think they make 80 Min Cdrs check with your computer online stores. I have heard that, Even when they come back from a manufactured pressing, anything over a 74 min CDR won't play on cheaper CD players. I suggest asking your CD duplication company and asking for recomendations.

Try the Imation 80 ,min blanks. They're silver on both sides and look really cool. Plus they work in my HP Writer and other CD players, although my ole and failing discman gives a bit of trouble in some places, but that is expected.
