first select only one track, then go to transform, and invert, you are done.
or select both tracks an go: transformation, amplitude, chanel mixer, and then select vocal cut

I have tried to make mix cds for a while. I have tried waveto cda, nothin. Mp3 to cda using a special program, nothing. Duplicating cd, nothing. I can burn all sorts of other stuff. Please help me. I have a memores cdrw-2216 ide. Using NTI cd maker pro, Nero, and mp3 cdmaker. Please help. Thanx

make sure that your not burning to a cr-rw.if so the cd player wont reconize th cd.make sure that the cd is a cdr.you may already know this.

try easy cd-creator, by dragging and dropping converted .wav files into its window (this software comes with just about every cd burner package), it's really simple. I have also experienced problems with acer cd rom drives, and many regular audio cd players not being able to read burned audio cd's. mainly panasonic, i have found. hope this may help a bit

How old is your home stereo? Older cd players just won't play burnt cds. I have a 5 year old Sony that won't touch them.

:Onw way to fix that is to get a better blank CD. The Cd you are using isnt reflective enough to run on some CD players... Use a cd that is meant only for Music,like Maxwell Music Cds, Toshibas work well also...

First, do they play on your computer's CD? Second, are you using rewritable CD's or one-time recordable CD-R CD's? Using a commercially produced CD as an index of 100% a CD-R has about 60% reflectance and a CD-R/W only has about 25% reflectance. I found this out when I was creating VCD's for my DVD player. The CD-R/W's would not work but the CD-R's created in exactly the same way would.

Just a thought or two.

Try this program "EASY CD CREATOR" to make your audio CD. the wizard
will guide u to make your CD. USER FRIENDLY!!!

I'v had the same prob....I use the Easy cd creator as well. The prob appears to be that the
CD writer is not burning these disks to a standard called "BLUE" . I have not been able to determine if this Std. is/will be complient from the Software end (Sound forge/sonic CD) or must be HArdware (pro.cd writer). As a thought. try your newly burnt cd's in various machines. You will find that they seem to work well in car players, boom boxes, and high end HIGH OVERSAMPLING boxes. The key word here is OVERSAMPLING.

If the file is on your hard drive as a ".RA" file then you could convert to ".WAV" by using a program call RA2WAV and then convert the ".WAV" format to ".MP3" format.

I need to bring my *.wav files to my computer with the CD burner and does anyone have a program that changes *.ra files to *.wav files without the 10 second digitized voice.

You are gonna need a sequencer or something similar. Cakewalk or cubase etc. are pricey but will do the trick. There is probably some shareware/freeware stuff on this site that will work. If you just want to play them then you need a midi player ???

Hi jack,
it helps if you were a little more specific, ie if you want to download midi files you dont need anything exept for an internet connection. Or do you mean download from the keyboard??
Well if you want to MAKE your own midifiles you need a midi recording software or sequencer such as cubase or cakewalk and a midi capable soundcard in your pc and a cable that connects PC to your midi out on PSR530. Just hit record and off you go...

I am going to switch from using a PC for sequence backup on stage to my laptop, (were a small band so we sequence drums and bass) and though I have a good program for Windows 98, I would like the flexability of beaing able to use Linux to do the same thing. I am looking at the MIDISport from Midiman a 2in x 2out USB box. They also have standard serial and parallel boxs available.
Anyone who has info on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Then have a read of <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/9906_119/">We look at how one band uses Hammerhead for drum loops</a>.

I am also a beginner (See How to Syncopate about 20 messages below) I have been experimenting with fruity loops for drum loops and it seems to work real nice, I add them to existing music with Mixman Studio. Hope this helps.

Try band in a box I have tried them all and this is the easiest way to get drum loops plus everything else too.... it is a little complicated but is worth the effort of figuring out

Sync settings on Cubase V2

I was wondering if anybody could give me an idea of what settings I should be using on Cubase V2 on the Atari for syncing up a Tascam reel-to-reel to Cubase? I'm using a Tascam Midiizer as the sync controller but can't seem to get the right settings on Cubase. Any ideas?

Also, does anybody have a copy of the instruction manual for V2? The guy I'm working with lost his manual when he moved to a new studio and he never got around to trying to get a copy.

All help greatly appreciated as Steinberg were no help at all!

I am new to midi useage and need some help. If i want to control my soundcard voices through midi or samplers etc. can it be done witj a jx-8p (or other keyboards with internal voices) or do i need a controller without voices????? If it can be done with the jx-8p then how???? pls respnd to

As long as your keyboard is capable of sending
MIDI data, it is possible to trigger your soundcard's notes.
Of course, you will play the internal sounds of your
JX-8P at the same time - to avoid that, set the synth to
LOCAL OFF. Should be explained in the manual how to do
that - this function disconnects the keys from the
sound producing unit within the instrument, but MIDI
data will still be generated and sent through MIDI OUT.

(Hint: if you use a mixing console, it's sometimes faster
and more obvious just to mute the synth's channel...)
You won't have to deal with internal functions and
you can SEE on the console which channels are active/non-active...)

Hi, I'm a hard working 1st year electrical engineering student who's immensely intersted in commercial music (eg pop, rock, hip hop, dance, r'n b).

I have an extremely hectic daily schedule and general life. I would like to supplement my academic life with some deep knowledge and insight into all aspects of commercial music from how it is made, to how the industry operates. I spend about 3-4 hours a week on the subject and my eventual long term goal is to aquire the ability to create exellent commercial music.

My dream is to become a famous musical artist. The only way I think I can achieve this is by teaching myself what its all about and eventually be able to create a demo tape (or an mp3) entirely by myself (with limited resources like a PC and maybe a synthesiser).

Sounds quite far feched I know but I'm quite determined.

The internet seems to be the logical place to go for all the information I need. Its convienient and my life prioprities aren't too distorted.

Okay the question is: Can someone please advise me about what sort of approach I need to take in order to maximise my musical abilities by using the net? I realise that the wealth and magnituide of info is much and too big to spend all day surfing trough mostly useless sites. ALL my resources can ONLY be found on the net so WHERE DO I START and how do I DEVELOP as a self-instructor??
