Comment below:
Here is a common way to put background music:
<embed src="name of wav.midi,etc" autostart=true loop=infinite hidden=true volume="100%"> <bgsound=src="name of wav. midi, etc" loop=infinite">
Of course in the portion where it says "name of wav" will be where you place the name of whichever you are using, wav, midi, mp3. You can also replace the word infinite with the number 1 if you don't want your music to keep looping.

Now, my problem with this code is that my mp3 I am using on my website keeps cutting out, restarting before finished, that sort of thing, so I am looking for a better code for my mp3. The problem may just be my browser, but I don't know because no one has told me if they hear the sound or not. This code works great for wav and midi and I have used it for mp3 before, so maybe it is just me.

if you want to let me know if you can hear the song.

Re: I want to put MP3's on my web site.

Sorry, I see that my code did not show. I suppose because it is an invisible code on websites it didn't pop up. You can e-mail me and I will give you the code.

Re: I want to put MP3's or Streaming on my web site.

some providers don't allow uploading MP3s to
their sites (fortune city, spaceports, xoom...).
so ask your provider if you're allowed to put
MP3s on your or upload those files to another
provider. (try www.freeservers.com)

if you want a list with free providers send me
an email.

lost sound files

In a warrenty repair upgrade, my sound II sound/modem card (sound blaster v3.01) was upgraded to a sound III sound/modem card (sound III 336SP). I immediately had sound distortion problems with some games, namely warcraft II tides of darkness. Game manufactured called it " a dos compatability issue". In experimenting with sound file downloads, I deleted all but one sound file (Sound 34).Is there a compliment of sound files that would be comparable to my original windows 95 V 4.00.950 sound files. Nothing fancy, I'm really just looking for game sound (dos compatable included). If this is downloadable, what would the the name of such a package? Thanks Ronnie

hardware problems

I'm trying to record on a fat new PC with SoundForge, Acid,
Sonic Foundry Vegas. The software's ok, but it seems
we have hardware problems: I get little shocks off the
mic so, I think it may be a grounding issue. I don't
know electronics. Any advice?

Re: hardware problems

It seems that your PC is not properly grounded:
*Check your mains socket to see if it is grounded
(Try another wall sockets and try the mic for any
sock)
*Check with an ohmmeter the power cable of the PC
to see if the middle tip (earth) is connected to the
other side (earth tip or hole or contact plate on
the perimeter , depends on the country you are in)
*Check the PC power plug with an ohmmeter
: the earth tip (the middle one) should have
zero ohms resistance to the back unpainted chassis
of the PC

Music Mentor 2.0 for PC where to find it?

Hi!

Some time ago I downloaded (pobably from SMM's site)
a shareware version of this nice soft Music Mentor 2.0
but my computer crashed and I lost it. Now it seems
that I can't find it again despite extensive searching
on the net.

Does anybody here have any idea as to where to find
this program or possibly send it to me by e-mail.

Thanks a lot!
Christopher

Re: Music Mentor 2.0 for PC where to find it?

Yep! It was made by Midisoft. I used to be the audio engineer over there years back.

Why on earth would you want it?

Sent to you by email? I highly doubt it...it filled an entire cd.

call Midisoft in seattle wa.

SB PCI128 Stereo Line in Mono only???

Brief history: Win98 on Toshiba Equium 7000 pc, on-board audio
disabled.
I've installed a SB PCI128 in my home studio to record. I'm only
getting one channel (mono) in through the Line In port no matter what I
do. I've tried
- 3 different audio sources (to be sure my mixers weren't failing me)
- 2 different cables (and assorted adapters to take either two 1/4"
monos or 2 RCA connectors into one stereo 1/8" into the Line In of the
SB, and have in all cases swapped the L and R outputs from the mixers)
to be sure it wasn't a bad cable.
- 2 different SB PCI128s even, to be sure the card wasn't bad.
But no matter what I do, I only hear one of the stereo channels. With
the SB Audio mixer (from the system tray), AUX input channel, while
playing into the PCI128 I move the PAN slider all the way L and hear
sound on the L channel fine. PAN all the way R and I hear nothing.
Recording with SoundForge shows me what I expected: only getting one
channel in.
All my testing tells me either
1) There's something not set up right on the PC drivers to make stereo
Line In work, or
2) On the cable I'm using (stereo 1/8"), the bands must not match what
the PCI128 is expecting (though I've used two of the Stereo 1/8" plugs
which were bought as standard stereo plugs - would Creative make their
required 1/8" stereo plug be non-standard?)
Anyone have any help/guidance to get my PCI128 recording stereo via the
Line In? I'm at a loss now. Thanks all. If possible, please reply to
krhen@stucki.com as well as the newsgroup.

Re: SB PCI128 Stereo Line in Mono only???

Try d/l the latest drivers from the SB website
It mite help clear up some recording problems

Re: I can only tell you that my SB128 is problem free

What you describe is strange.
Can't help unless I'm in front your PC
(but I am some 15 thousand Km away...)

I agree

I have no problems whatsoever with mine. The only thing i can think of is its an external problem...
and you are sure the speakers are not stuffed?

Making audio cds

Anyone out there know how to make audio cds from sequenced midi/wave files?

Making audio cds

How do u make audio cds from kazza........like u download songs off the net then what?????

Re: Making audio cds

: Anyone out there know how to make audio cds from sequenced midi/wave files?

I've made about 210 CD-R's from "WAV"s ripped from vinyl LP's, old 1/4" tape cassettes, 45's even reel to reel tapes from the 50's.
The best recording and editing software for the buck is Sonic Foundry's "Sound Forge XP".
Hewlett-Packard makes the best "Write & Re-Write" drives - Psst, get the internal IDE versions they're quicker. I only know the 2X write speed; as I said, over 200 of 'em without a single flaw using the HP-7200i.

Note that the same hardware allows the burning of all types of CD's - audio, data and picture.

after completing my song on cubase,
then burning on to cd via easy cd creator
and also through soundforge, i'm having a few problems playing my cd's on a normal cd player
some players play it some don't....WHY?

Re: there are some possibilities...

(1) get an audio cd-recorder
(2) if you have 2 soundcards, use one for
playback and the other one for recording
(3) if you don't use wave-files in your
sequencer record with your soundcard
(4) best would be a soundcard that is able to
play and record at the same time

for (2) and (3): record WAVe-files and burn them
on cd per cd-burner.

Convert teledisk (.tdo) files.....

Is there any macsoftware that converts my .tdo files to
wave, aiff, au, or any other sound format???

Re: Convert teledisk (.tdo) files.....

as far as I know you can't convert .td0 files to
wave or aiff directly. you have to unpack the
.td0s' per teledisk onto an akai-formatted disk
into the akai-format which you could convert to
WAV per akai-disk. but I don't know if there
exists such a tool on mac. but if, you could use
pc-emulation.

Sending MIDI data from MC-303 to a PC

Hello,

please can you tell me how to send a MIDI sequence from my MC-303 Groovebox to my PC? In fact, I'd like to send, by MIDI connection, Track by Track a musical sequence (for example a playing Bassline)from the MC to Quartzaudio Master (a multitrack as Cubase).

It will avoid me to re-record track after track all the MC-303 track's Patterns directly in QuartzAudio Master.

Thanks for help

Music administration

Is there any music administration software out there. Catalog music, people and budgets, mainly needed for churchmusic program.

Re: Music administration

: Is there any music administration software out there. Catalog music, people and budgets, mainly needed for churchmusic program.

Jim,

maybe TCMR available at www.cmp.net is the one for you -
I don't know the software in detail, but maybe
it fits your needs.

Greetings,
Harald

Re: Music administration

: Jim,

Check out Music Admin Pro at www.ssomsoftware.com. Great program.

Regards,

Stephanie

Re: Music administration

Stephanie, you are a god-send. Music Admin Pro is a truly remarkable program. We tried quite a number of these types of programs over the last few years and they were all messy, cumbersome and full of bugs. This program leaves the rest for dead. Thanks again.

Getting regular CDRs to record on home stereo burners

Does anyone know how to convert regular CD-Rs so that the home stereo CD Recorders can recognize them?

They try to get you to buy these more expensive CD-Rs which are specially encoded for their players that are for "consumer use" and have "digital audio". What a rip-off.

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Getting regular CDRs to record on home stereo burners

there is a way to do that but no one takes
warranty!!
insert a CD-R into your recorder and wait until
it has initialized. then open the cd-slot (but
not with the "open"-button!) and insert a normal
empty cd.
