Easy CD Creator and audio problems

I have the latest by Adaptec, "Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe", and have learned to make decent compilations on CD by "Extracting" tracks into Wave format, and then draging them into a CD Layout, and then burning a CD. Only one HUGE problem, though:

The resulting CD's play great on some CD players, but are full of hiss, skips, and pops on other players...!!! Why is this? How can I make CD's that play consistently well on all players?

that depends on the CDs, your burner and the
players you use. especially cheap CDs often have
a lack of quality so some players can't read
them. also some burners.
the more expensive players often have a better
"read-correction" (don't know how to say... ;)
but some older or cheaper ones make those hiss-
sounds when an error occures and they can't
correct it.

Easy CD Creator 4 problems

The Easy CD creator can't burn the mp3 of napster!
I have many mp3 they didn't have more than 10 second on the program, but in other program to listen they are 2:30 or + . Please send me a anwser to my problem!!!!

I think it may be the CD's, which are Verbatim. I read someone's recommendation to try Mitsui or Kodak, and see if that helps. You see, the weird thing is that on my CD-ROM and CD Walkman my CD's play perfectly, but not so on my 5 CD carroussel Onkyo CD player...

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer people's questions...!

Help! How to mix wav and midi?

I have approx 10 sound effects (noises)in wav format which I would like to mix into a midi file. Then export the new file to a file which can be played on a standard CD player. Is this possible? What s/w products will I need?

accessing sounds from a sound card

I just got the Ensoniq/Creative labs sound card and figured I could access a lot of cool sounds from the Ensonique sound library. Does anyone know how I might access more than the general midi sound bank and use them for midi recording? In which way do you use the sounds? With an external keyboard? Do you have an external Ensonique keyboard or are you hopin to get sounds from the soundcard? How do you want to access?

Right here on hitsquad there is a program called
Convert Machine for macs!

I hav'nt tried it yet but judging from the read up
it sounds promising.

I think there are much more programs you could
use for your purpose (did you try at
www.harmony-central.de/software? they got a lot)

you can get MacAmp at www.macamp.com
for pc there's a plug-in to convert wav to mp3
with winamp, maybe there's also a plug-in for mac
to decode mp3s to wav. check it...

recording compilation CDs

I have used Adaptec CD software, Prassi Diskjuggler, Audiograbber and CDRWin software all to create compilation audio CDs. EAC does not recognise my HP 8200i burner. Even on "blind studies" my husband was able to detect each time the original CD and the copy, albeit the difference was not significant. Without having to go to all the trouble of editing any .wav files, which software would you guys recommend I use. I am particularly interested in making compilations so being able to extract individual tracks is very important. Thanks in advance.

Help! Require pro multi-track software that displays recordings

Could you help me in finding a pro quality multi-track
or even virtual tracks software which displays audio as
either a segment(non-waveform)and when required as a
waveform? I mainly require it for editing and sometimes multitrack recording. I have worked on the Microsound DAW (www.mtu.com) which have the features I require,but the DAW is financially out of reach for me.

soundforge 4.5 multitracking

This may be very elementary, but here goes.

Is there a way to open multiple files in forge
to make a constant stream of sound?
Say if I had a bass line in a wav file then
I wanted to put a drum track in there
And save the completed mix as ONE file
is this possible ?

Am I describing the abilities of a
program more like cubase or cakewalk?

Actually, Sound Forge is a audio editor package. it used to edit stereo(ot two
track) audio files. You are describing multitracking. And yes, cubase, cool edit pro, samplitude, vegas pro, cakewalk are multitrack packages. There's a package
called "n-tracks" available from the shareware download site here for about $35.
It's supposed to be very good!!!!!!!!

the cheapest way is to get the file CDFS.VXD
(send an email if you want it) to be able to copy
tracks from audio-CDs to harddisk as WAVe-files.
then you'll need a mp3-encoder. there are plenty
around. at least you need a ftp-program like
cuteftp or leechftp to upload your mp3. (ask
your provider if mp3 files are allowed!)

if you don't mind spending some money, get
audiocatalyst 2. this program saves audio-tracks
directly as mp3 on your harddisk.

I think you should check out the Virtual Piano, included with cakewalk express or pro audio
or you should (much cheaper) look om www.hitsquad.com/smm for such piano thingies
(oh yeah, you should also use a loopback device with it, to connect the 'piano' to the synth, e.g. Hubi's loopback device)

turntables to a computer

SB Live/ Cakewalk

Hi guys. I can't figure out how to get Cakewalk 8 to use my sound fonts that I have loaded with my Sound Blaster Live. It doesn't work like it did with an AWE 64 apparently! If anyone knows how to acess my other banks with Cakewalk, PLEASE help!!! =)

MP3 Encoding question

I have tried a few MP3 encoders, but when I encode files, I get no sound when I play them. The file is there, but I'm getting no sound. I'm presently using CDex to encode the files and RealPlayer G3 to play them.
