I also have a lot of old Hybrid Arts midi files that were done on an old Atari computer in the 90s. I uploaded them to my PC (DOS format) some time ago, but still cannot use them with any newer sequencer software. But I did figure out the file-format Hybrid Arts used, and if I cannot find any converters on the web, I may write my own conversion utility. If so, it may be awhile before I get started on that project... Anyone else who has tackled this, let me know, I hate reinventing the wheel!

Sorry to bother you with this, but everytime I try to download a shareware file from this site I get a message telling me that it is a html file. When I click the "continue" choice, I get a message that says the file already exists on my drive. Of course, I have received only about 2400k at that point and it is useless. I know there must be something simple that I'm not doing. I don't have this problem on other sites, however. Can you help me? Thank you.

Ahh that's nice Angele but this might not be easy so I hope u like your sister enough to go to all this trouble!

Basically u need to use 'AnalogX Vocal Remover' to do this OK? Now it is a 'plugin' which means it is used within another program such as a 'sequencer' or maybe an 'audio editor'. Now most sequencers CAN use this plugin but we will look for a free one for u to download OK?

So to remove the vocal u will put the song (.wav file) into a sequencer/editor and apply the 'Vocal Remover plugin' to the song via the 'effects' facility before exporting the finished product OK?

I just bought a new computer and Opcode's windows 95 Driver is not working with the windows 98 32 bit demands. can you please tell me where I may download the new updated driver? I have tried the web site of Opcode, it does not seem that anybody is home there.....

Im using audicompositor and im not sure which sound card we have but the computer is gateway and my midi file has a lot of instruments does that matter? if so what eles can i do to fix it

if it is in patern mode it wont let export loop make sure it is in song mode..hope this helps if not e-mail me and i will try to help.. but that is the only thing i can think of

Best way to break up large wav file

I record my band on cassette when we do shows and then
use Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 Spindoctor to create a wav
file for burning a CD. It all works fine except I'd
like to be able to break up the one big file into
seperate tracks on the CD, and Easy CD Creator 4 doesn't
seem to have a function to do this. Does anybody have any
suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Hi there,

What you'll need is an audio editor. It will allow you to break the file up any way you wish. You'll find heaps of decent audio tools here:

I recommend Cool Edit 2000 myself, but you'll find something that suits you without too many problems.

NEED MACSTER HELP

for some reason my macster is disfunctional...it connects but then quickly disconnects on its own with no explanation. i've tried trashing the whole program and then downloading it again, but no luck. help!!!

I know this is not any help to speak of, but "Me too". My macster worked for about a week and then displayed the behavior you speak of. I threw out the preferences, reregistered, it began to work again(Oh JOY) then disconnected again, 24 hours later. Now that trick doesn't work at all. I don't have much contact with the the technosavvy world, just punching it out by myself for the most part. Like I said "not much help" but maybe we can wave a bigger HELP flag.

If the suffix is .sit however, you need a Macintosh and Stuffit Expander.

it would help if u state the file suffix (if that's the right terminology). That is .zip? or .rar? etc.

If the file name ends with .zip then u neen 'Winzip' to decompress it. If .rar then 'Winrar'. Do a search and download free versions - http://download.cnet.com/ is as good a place as any to start.

I wold safely guess there is. Check with ISIS, because usually when there is an external port, there is an internal one too, at least with digital.

You're right, Maddas, MP3 Blaster32 2000 will encode WAV to MP3. It can be <a href="/smm/programs/MP3_Blaster_Pro_win95/">downloaded Here</a>.
