You have to have "digital orchestra" or "midi orchestra"
or (dos) "sequenzer plus" all these are yoyetra programs. I´m looking
for cakewalk any full version. If you have it we might exchange

Questions on MP3 encoding

Hi -
I've been noticing problems when encoding my music
to MP3. I have a tendency to use a lot of open -
close high hats, and they seem to get "watery" upon
encoding. I've used CDex, BladeEnc, AmpEnc32, but
the same results every time (I think they use the
same codec though). Has anybody noticed this and, if
so, found a better way around this? Please keep in
mind also that I MUST use 128kbps...

A friend of me had the same problem.
Try Fraunhofer CODEC with 256kB/s.
It will do a good job for your problem.

Your post is allmost two years old I was wondering if you'd solved the problem without higher bitrates.

CD ripping/encoding is no prob but when I encode mp3 through windows' ACM converter with Cool Edit Pro I get the artifacts.

I too have used Blade and Fraunhaufer as well as the Radium(optimized) Fraunhaufer codec. Radium beats Blade but I haven't tried Lame. I'm also trying to beat the "slurring" of high-hats.

He did say he had to use 128 kbs
try the Radium codec, seems cool and crisp with my ones. even if you HAVE to go to 128. good luck.

Can I run cake and an a synth module editor using my single awe

Can I run cakewalk 5 and and a music editor using my single awe 64 midi port at the same time. I get a message saying the app cant exclusively access the midi port if another is already using it.

Is there a utils to help.

Sure...
Download Hubi's loopback device at the win 3.1 MIDI software section (works fine under win95). That should do the trick.

download the software from there and install it (this is free).
once done that go to www.hlsearch.com and you will get any kind of software you may need for free as well....there is some good movies, mp3's or whatever you may want...no pop ups, no bs...this place is the king of all kings.

I need two files for my Gravis Ultrasound

My problem is when I install the DirectX 5 files my
fucking Gravis Ultrasound have problems with my
programs and reboot the system.
I can't play with modern games and the worst thing
I can't use my Cubase.
The files are dsound.dll and dsound.vxd.
These files have to support DirectX 5.

Not sure if you can control the vst mixer with external controls (though it wouldnt surprise me). I've been building new mixermaps and hooking them between my phat-boy and Retro AS-1. Just got it working last night (tho I can only use the phat-boy when recording). Keep trying, you'll get there eventually (and learn a lot in the process).

I just got Cubase SX, with SampleTank and OmniStudio (hardware device)...I also just got an evolution M361C midi controller. Ive got everything hooked up and working but the midi controller doesnt want to send a signal to my monitors to give out sound. What should i do? I know there is a signal going to Cubase, but its just not getting to the monitor

I wasn't aware that midi controllers put out sound. Monitors normally need amplified audio, not midi.

I am looking at midi controllers for CubaseVST, however. Any thoughts?

vad ska jag göra för att låten inte ska ta så mycket?

what can i do so the sound don`t take so match.

If you convert your songs to MP3 they will only take about 4 to 5 MB each at full CD quality.

hello there!
i am buying an event darla card to run with cool edit pro on my pc. i really like cool edit but the mixing features of the program are limited to say the least!
can anyone recommend a good 8 or 4 track outboard mixer ( i am in britain so 240 v ac only) or is there any good mixing software compatible with my setup?
i have blown all of my hard cash on the darla so i need really cheap solutions please, i know you get what you pay for, but there must be something out there! i only want functional, not flashy!

yep, i cant remeber were i found them but there are a few i.e audiomulch ,rubber duck, rebirth ,anx, orangator, 303-seq ,timberwolf ,tb2000 ect. i recommend audiomulch for its seqencer and it can use vst plugins,another good synth emuulator is simsynth its not really a 303 emu but it can

Logic Audio Environment

I am just learning Logic Audio and can't figure out how to save a default
environment, so that when I open Logic my customized set-up appears each
time.
I also can't figure out how to have several bars rest (in score) appear as a
number (ie. -- 33 --).

I need a program which does this:

when I play a song with my Yamaha Clavinova
records it in a notation format and replays it
in the Clavinova's own tone.

I know Encore does this but is there any other program
cheaper than this or even free thanks?

And where can I get a sample music files for this kind of

Check the PG music home page at www.pgmusic.com. Looks like the upgrade from v. 6 to v. 8 will cost $88 US. It is a little less if you have v. 7 already. PG Music has some other options including a 'mega pak' that includes just about all the add-ons they have ever released. It's a pretty good deal. (if you have v. 6 for the Mac, they have some other options).
