. CD-Players (of any stereo) only play songs recorded in CDA format. In order to make a CD from your MP3 files ready to play in any CD player, you will have to convert your MP3 files to CDA and then record it on the CD. This conversion has to be done in two steps: from MP3 to WAV and from WAV to CDA...

. The first step is easy... Winamp converts MP3 files to Wave, simply by redirecting the output. In "Preferences", select "Output" and choose ".WAV file output (silent)".
. Now the second step is a little more complicated. You will need one of the following softwares:

AudioCD MP3 Studio

Easy CD Audio (Disk 1 / Disk 2 / Disk 3)

. Once you have it, select a number of WAVE files (previously converted from MP3 files) from your hard disk or even Zip Drive and the program will convert them to CDA fomat (Compact Disc Audio) directly on the CD. The resulting CD can be played in any CD Player (in your car, house, wherever).
. The maximum time capacity of the CD-R is 74 minutes, but from my experience I recommend you don't record more than 65 minutes, or you'll be taking the chance of many CD-Players not being able to play your CD (Don't ask me why...).

simply decode your *.mp3 in *.wav and burn it on a blank-cd.

Looking for something similar myself with web searches and ran across your question. Try the web link I've tried to attach. If it doesn't work, go to www.audioutilities.com and look an MP3 converter with details "MP3 CD Converter (MP3 to CD,MP3 CD Writer)". Not free, but not too expensive. Haven't tried it myself yet. Good luck.

Best Buy sells MP3 Maker for around $30.00 which I liked a lot. Also, don't install the Player that comes with it, instead use Winamp (Free on the internet). If the installation installs the player, just install Winamp afterwards and it will take over. Good luck, it will open up your music world!

VST Manual / Auto-Punch

Hey, can someone tell me where I can find a Cubase VST Manual? or at least how to perform the auto-punch function? I'm not sure about the functions "overdub/replace", "mix/normal/punch" and the two buttons over and under the cycle-button.

CDs on PCs

Dear Colleagues;

I would like to install a programme on my wife’s PC that would
allow her to listen to music CDs whilst she is writing. I noticed
that the tunes on the CD she picked out for me to play first all had
the extension ".cda". I install RealAudio 2.0 and RealTime 2.0,
but it appears that these programmes are specifically for accessing
sound over the Internet; in any case, I couldn’t get them to play
my wife’s CD.

Does anyone know of freeware or shareware that will allow my wife
to play CDs (".cda" files) on her PC? If so, kindly send me details,
including the address of the site from which the programme can be downloaded.

To play music cd`s on a pc all you need to do is put the cd into the cd rom drive. The start the windows Audio CD player program.

In win 95 and win 98 you will find this program in the start menu....goto programs, then accessories, then entertainment, then select the program CD player. Then you will see the a control panel similar to that on your conventional cd player.....

You can't convert a ram file into a wav file, because the ram (real player file which streams) is a streaming file, which can't be converted. Only a real audio file (which is .ra not .ram) can be converted to a wav file. Real media (.rm) files can be converted into a wav file as well. Somehow you're gonna have to change or convert the .ram file to a .ra file, since they're the same thing anyways, except for the .ram is a streaming version of the .ra file. You'll have to either get the real encoder software, or something in this nature. Hope I helped out!!

Not always true. ram files are sometimes text files that point to a solid archive and not a streaming file. Rename a saved RAM file to TXT and you'll see what I mean. Then take that URL inside and use it to save that RA file to disk. You can download some of them that are not "true" calibration streaming files.

Actually the much-famed Ra2Wave program will do it, but the demo version puts an electronic vioce saying "Ra2Wave Demo" about once a minute. But it proves it can be done!!
