ESS sound has gone MONO

ESS sound card has gone mono without warning or prompting. Both channels are now fixed to one side. Anyone know what message/command/software will set it back to stereo?

there is software to change the settings on an ess sound card. try going to ess technologies driver page

How can I make *.swa files for free

I need to make *.swa files, but don't want to buy Sound Forge - is there a shareware or freeware product that converts wavs to this format? Or a plug in for something else? I use CoolEdit at the moment.

If you use win98 you will need to reinstall the audio driver used for win95, that will work, if you are not working with 98, i will have to think of something else that would work. I know this from experience, feel free to let me know if it works.

Wrong.

Wavelab, VAZ Modular 2.0, AudioMulch and Fruity Loops 1.5, Signum S1100DX all support VST plug-ins "out of the box".

For other applications, including Cakewalk 6, you'll need the VST-DX converter from http://surf.to/amulet
it's not free though, but there is a demo at least.

You can also use VSTs in Buzz if use the free converter with it. Hell Buzz if free
ITS ALL FREE.

How can I record DVD Movie Audio clips?

Hi - I just got a new PC that came with a great Sound Card. However, I need to find out how I can record audio clips from a playing DVD-movie on the same PC. When I use sound recorder - it won't let me record while the DVD is playing, even though I can record audio CD's the same way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure the recorder is set to record WAV. While the dvd is playing you should be able to record. There are several settings (on Creative recorders anyway) that allow you to record from any source you can plug into your PC.

No i don't think so because when u compress you cut two thing
in the original sound:the non-audible sound and the
others sounds which mask by the other.So with my
frenchy english words i want to say that what u hear
after the decompression is the same in the acoustly
way but the physical sound not be the same.
So may be the song lost a little feeling , i don't know
I hope that u can understand me...

no you can decode mp3 to wav and get mp3 quality in a very large file (or 98% of mp3 quality) :)
