Pay What You Want for Reason 6 Upgrade

Propellerhead is about to release Reason 6 on September 30, 2011, and has announced the "Pay What You Want" upgrade promo for users that have both Reason and Record.

If you own the older version of Reason (v5 or earlier), this update will be massive and thus you are not included in this promo.

You'll be getting a lot of new features, to name a few you'll get a huge mixer, voice synth and pitch corrector, bass and guitar amps, audio editing/recording and you'll get multiple parallel racks.

You'll also be getting 64-bit support, 6 brand new effects, transpose features and an expanded sound bank. It's an entirely different ball game with Reason 6.

However, since Reason 6 is a combination of both Reason and Record, for those that already have both programs, the update will not be as large. And if you ask why would you pay for something you already have, then Propeller head responds with that by saying then "Pay what you want" for the upgrade. Literally, the lowest payment starts at $1. This promo is available for those that have purchased both Reason and Record.

Now to help you decide on what Reason 6 is worth to you, here are the Reason 6 upgrade details:

  • Pulveriser, a sound crushing effect
  • Echo, an advanced echo in stereo with modern analog tape delay emulation
  • Alligator - a three band pattern based gate effect
  • High quality audio Transpose
  • Improved Interface
  • Expanded soundbank
  • 64 bit compatibility

Just one of the new features added did cost Propellerheads big dough, so if you are earning money by using Reason, do consider paying above the $1. On the other hand if you are a student and have limited funds and do not yet earn from your music recordings, then this is a great opportunity for you.

The promo period is from September 30 to October 31, 2011.
