Download a copy of LP Ripper from:

http://www.cfbsoftware.com.au

The on-line help has 'Getting Started' and 'System Requirements' sections which should be enough to get you going. LP Ripper makes the task a lot easier as it lets you record the whole side of an album in one go and then automatically splits it into a separate WAV file for each track.

Reality Synth help BADLY needed!

Hello ppl! I just came here, and would like a little help.

I use Reality Synth (www.seersystems.com). I am having troubles. I would like to play live, using Reality, while it records into a .wav file. However, its extremely slow. When recording, the sounds stutter, choke, pop etc.

Now, I have a Celeron 300a, a crappy Samsung HD (which is old and slow), 128mb ram, and an SBLive Value PCI. I suspect if I had a much faster drive, ATA66 at 7200RPM, things would be much better, but I dont unfortunetly. Not yet at least. Also, consider the fact that Reality uses an Emulated Wavetable driver, thus this could also be the culprit.

Generally, Reality performs outstanding, when NOT recording. But the second I enable the "Capture" mode in Reality, the sound is just horrible.

I really need to record into wav, since I use Cool Edit Pro 1.2 and SoundForge to edit things. Does anyone have any Ideas? This would be much help. Thank you all!

I had the same trouble as you - heres how I solved it crudely. I have 2 computers. I play reality on one, and send an analog signal to the other one's soundcard, whic records. There is very little loss in sound quality. Now with a digital out and in available on SB live/audigy, this is easier. Crude, but works.

I have this synth too and the problem is, it crashes after 3 or 4 minutes,any ideas? I'm using a Pentium II 400 with 64 meg and SB PCI128 Ensoniq

I asked this question once before but I need to
ask it again because obviously I'm doing something
wrong. I'm trying to record wave or Real Audio from
my computer to a tape deck.
I'm using a Kenwood Double cassette deck.
I have 2 holes in the back for LINE IN-RECORD
I have 2 holes in the back for LINE OUT-PLAY
I have a hole in the front for MIC

I'm using a Pentium 3 500mhz Gateway computer with
Windows'98.
Now I do have wires to connect whatever to whatever but
I need to know exactly where I'm to plug the wires in
at and what holes.
I also need to know if there is something on my computer
in my multimedia properties that I'm to select.
Like am I using LINE out for recording or WAVE MODEM line
or MIXED Output or what??
I'm completely lost here.
I just need to know where the wires go and if there
is anything on my computer that needs to be selected
so I can record from computer to a tape.

connect your line-out from your pc to your hifi-amplifier where you put it in cd or aux input, connect your tape deck also to your amplifier, now you can play the sounds from your pc trough your amplifier, and you can record with your tapedeck the sounds that are played on your amplifier

i plug my microphone into my audio card at the back of the computer. there's three slots, problem is, it doesnt exactly say what one the mic plugs into. when i try and record sounds with the sound recorder on my computer, it doesnt show that it's getting any input via the "green line". i dont know how i'm supposed to set my mic up or where to plug it in so i can record sounds, basically.

Thanks for responding.
I connected my line out to my stereo amp through
AUX and hooked up the tape deck to the amp also
but I didn't get anything.
Is there something on my computer that I need
to have turned on?
What I mean is I have a SB64 card and it has options
where you select what is recording and what is
playing.
My recording options are:
CD,Microphone,Line,Auxilary,Video,Modem,and Mixed
Output.
My playing options are:
CD,Wave,and Synthesizer.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Should I try the Microphone slot on my soundcard
instead of Line out?

HI RICK
Did you ever sort this prob out way back in january? I have similar probs and in searching the net came across this page.To date this is as close i have come to an answer.
I also use a soundblaster but it is a 1024 player live and is also connected to the aux on a trio hi-fi amp with a technics tape deck.
For any help you could give i would be gratefull. DAVE

The only program is <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/TotalRecorder/">Total Recorder</a> but the free
version will only record 40 seconds but that should
be enought to record commercials.

I need a software capable of converting MIDI songs into their respective measures and tabs....for guitar...
Something similar to a software call COMP-G-TAB which is very good but I am having problems contacting the owner to buy it from him.
It's got to be something that gives the actual TAB for guitar and not the music sheet for piano or any other instrument as the majority of Midi Editor does.

<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Tab_Transcriber_Win95/">Tab Transcriber</a> can convert MIDI to TAB for
guitar, bass, banjo and mandolin.

online- group buying. The concept is rather interesting. Group buyers together into buying pools

If you download the program: "Kazaa" http://www.kazaa.com/ whitch is very familiar to Napster, you will find so much well working software that you'll wank. Eg.:Logic Platinum 4.81.
Be careful, this is a file-sharing program.

Logic VS-Roland VS1680

Ive just started to use Logic VS to run my Roland VS1680. But im having som touble to start up the VS1680. Ivd followed the instructions for Sync-operation.
The VS1680 recive Midi messages, but it just wount start from the Logic vs program( i run this with a Machintosh 1400cs). I`d be Greatful if somone can Help me here, so i can go on with my life!!! :)

all you have to do is d/l the .ram file and you can goto dos mode and use the type command and it should show you the location of the .rm i would guess you could use notepad or another simple word editor. laterz
