Download <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/ZipAudio/">Zappee MP3 Player</a>

It can take the music off your CD and automatically
turn it into an MP3 file.

Duplicating CDG Disc

I have recently tried to make a copy of my CDG disks as a backup. I am using a HP 8100 Writer and a 40 speed IDE cd rom. To my horror the on screen graphics are missing. Please can someone tell me what is wrong.

Thanks

CD burner software supports only redbook format (standard audio cd), the CDG has only the audio data in this format rest is extension that the copy software doesn't understand.
I don't believe that you need a backup of a cd.
Be careful with the originals and you will have no use for a copy for lifetime.

Their software is the only I know of that will
copy the music as well as the text. It works great.

Problem with keyboard input to computer

Hi,
I own a Casio CTK-731. I have just purchased Voyetra's "Teach Me Piano" software. This is my first attempt at actually connecting the keyboard to the computer. During the media test phase, I can successfully get the output from the computer to the keyboard test to pass, but I cannot get the input from the keyboard to the computer to register anything.

If anyone has an idea about what may be the problem, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks

Re: Problem with keyboard input to computer

Check your MIDI cable connection on the Keyboard. The MIDI In of the cable should be plugged in to the MIDI Out of the Keyboard and MIDI out of the Cable should be connected to the MIDI In of the Keyboard.

Unfortunately it can't be done as MIDI is not audio
data - I strongly reccomend you read the following:

Forgive the stupid. They know not wat they do.

ALLO.

I am currently a music major at uni. I want to become EXTREMELY capable with music technology. Before I can though I need to set my self up. In that sense then. Is there somebody out there who might be able to recommend a good way to start. Namely one that is capable of being built on at a later date. . and one that still opens up many possibilites for the moment.

ANy thoughts>>>???

4track (eg.tascam) style software?

i'm tryin to find a simple 4 (or more) track studio emulator - a rendered tascam, so to speak. i'm a cubasevst user but would like a program my newbie guitarist could use in place of a 4 track. simple recording with overdub capability. freeware is extremely preferable.
thanks!

We need one too here at Delmark Records as we've just dug our machine out of the closet. There are some free jazz or blues CDs for anyone who can supply a file or photocopy of an HR16 manual!

Thanks,

Music Competition: Cybertown's Battle of the Bands!

Cybertown's BATTLE OF THE BANDS
======================================================
Come and be a part of an awesome event like no other on the Planet!

Cybertown, http://www.cybertown.com, the 3D Science Fiction community of
the future, is hosting our first BATTLE OF THE BANDS contest on January 23rd, 2000 (North American time zone).

There's still time to enter!

This event will take place in 3D (Cybertown will provide special musician
avatars for you to select from) and each band or individual will be allowed
to submit 3 songs on a RealAudio playlist.

JUST IMAGINE...you - your band...musicians from every corner of the
world...It'll be outta this world! You'll meet people from everywhere and
make new friends, new connections and possibly walk away a winner by citizen
popular vote!

HOW DOES THIS WORK? Performing in a 3D VR world is similar to being in a
real life place. You will use a 3D avatar you'll select from our exclusive
library of musician avatars (some hold instruments and are animated) to
represent you in the 3D world. You are the master of your avatar. Voting
citizens will click on your special avatar which will launch the Real G2
Player for them. They can listen to your music and ask you about it at the
same time. Trés Kewl.

REGISTRATION forms are available at Cybertown. Only registered members will be allowed to submit music so please register and activate your FREE membership before registration.

You'll select your music category and be competing against other musicians
and bands from around the globe for Cybertown prizes and month long exposure
in our fabulous Black Sun Club.

Cybertown has put together an information page to help newcomers to 3D and
streaming RealAudio music files get up to speed on where to find the tools
you need to get your content in shape for this (and future) events. You can
find that page here:
http://www.cybertown.com/bob2000/real.html

Please feel free to forward this email to interested parties.

If you have any questions on this event send email to:

Too much choice!!!

Howdy,
Thanks for reading this.I was wondering if anyone could help me in choosing the right software/hardware for recording on my pc[Plll 500,128 meg ram/creative vibra 128 s/card etc.]i have loaded the cubase vst demo and fruityloops drum machine. If i get a beat going on the fruity and minimise it,then try to start cubase and record the beat i get an error about sound card not being in full duplex mode.I guess the card might be too cheap hehehe. What card can you suggest? Is cubase the best software for recording?
There really is so much to choose from.Any help would be much appreciated.regards, Shane.

I thought the Vibra 128 was not full duplex - the
<a href="http://europe.mediaforte.com.sg/VIBRA128_SPEC.htm">Vibra specification page</a> doesn't say it is.

<a href="http://www.turtlebeach.com">Turtle Beach</a> make reasonable affordable full duplex
cards (meaning it can play and record similtaneously)
which are made for musicians.

Cubase and Fruityloops are both excellent programs
but if you're looking for cheaper alternatives
without all the extra features then try the totally
free program <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/HammerHead_Rhythm_Station/">HammerHead</a> for drum loops and <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track</a>
for multitrack recording.

Alf.

Thanks Alf.

Alf,
Thanks for your help.Damn I wondered why a
creative vibra 128 was cheaper than a sbpci64.
Now i know.The sbpci64 is a full duplex card.
I think i will get a sblive.value or check
out the montego cards.I have used both
hammerhead and ntrack before and they are
good. Shoulda stuck to them!!
Thanks again,
Shane.

not a valid format".how to solve it??

Re: wav format

: when i use "popfix" .why do i get the message"

Find out what format the .wav files need to be then
convert your files using <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit</a>

My guess is they need to be standard 16 bit PCM .wavs

Alf.

PS - What is 'popfix' and where do you get it?

Re: wav format

Popfix removes pops and clicks from wave file recordings of vinyl records and similar sources.

Wavelab does not "see" third party DX plug-in

Hi there!

I have Sonic Foundry noise reduction 2.0 Direct X plug-in which works fine in Sound Forge, but seems that Wavelab 3.0 does not recognize its presence on my hard disk.
Solution?

Re: Wavelab does not "see" third party DX plug-in

Try copying the .dll file for the plugin into the \system\plugins directory in your wavelab folder.

Command line program for concatenating (joining) multiple WAV fi

I'm looking for a simple program to join a sequence of short wav files together into a long wav file. Anyone know of such a program. It needs to be batchable so that I can pass a file name list to it.

atari sequencer - video sync ?

Does anyone know of a shareware sequencer for the atari that supports the ability to work with a sync box to video ?

Re: atari sequencer - video sync ?

: Does anyone know of a shareware sequencer for the atari that supports the ability to work with a sync box to video ?

I used to have an old Atari ST and STe years ago
and I used to be able to sync it using Notator
and a snyc device called I think was called Unitor
but it's been nearly 10 years since then so I'm
not sure of the name of the sync device.

Notator also let you set the frame rate you wanted
to sync with.

Unfortunately I don't know of any shareware programs
but you should be able to pick up a copy of Notator
pretty cheaply second hand as you can't buy it new
any more.

Try the news group <a href="news:comp.sys.atari.st">comp.sys.atari.st</a>
