MIDI Type 0 files contain only one track that contain all of the MIDI events for the entire song, including the song title, time signature, tempo and music events.

MIDI Type 1 files may have two or more tracks. By convention, the first contains song information such as the title, time signature, tempo, etc.. The second and following tracks contain musical event data specific to that track. This MIDI type closely matches the organization of a modern multi-track MIDI sequencer.

MIDI Type 2 files are sort of a combination of Type 0 and Type 1 files. It contains multiple tracks, but each track represents a different sequence which may not necessarily be played simultaneously. This MIDI Type is meant to be used to save drum patterns or other multi-pattern music sequences.

RIFF MIDI files are basically one of the above MIDI Type files "encased" in a standard Windows RIFF file. A RIFF file simply uses a common structure/format that helps programs more easily interpret the contents of a file. For example, WAVE and AVI files use the RIFF file structure. However the RIFF MIDI files, basically plop the contents of a standard MIDI file into the shell of a Windows RIFF file, tacing on some extra information at the beginning of the file.

As of version 9.0, Cakewalk Pro Audio includes, what they call, a session drummer, which allows you to compose and arrange drum tracks. You can either organize premade patterns (like clip art), create them from scratch, or a little of both.

If the upgrade price ($79) is too much, or you don't have an older version of Pro Audio (I think you'd have to pay full price), then you can try one of the many pattern sequencers. You can find a list of the popular PC pattern sequencers at:

The Copy Protection Key, otherwise refered to as a
Dongle is a small physical device which plugs into
your printer port and contains a hard-coded serial
number.

When you buy Cubase you get a dongle with the serial
number so that people can't steal copies of the
software from you.

If you bought Cubase you will have a dongle in the
box - if you stole it then you can't use it.

: I am having problems installing a cd easy creator 3.5 and direct cd. It seems that I've upgrated them but it keep getting the error message.
Your C:\windows\system\winaspi.dll is an older version you need to go to windows update (which I have - and can't find it or they don't want me to)
I am just a new user and had a recovery done but I have to install all my things.
My cd burner was working ok.
I don't know what this pertains to but I desperatly need to know where I can find it.
