I want to put up scores to my site for members to save and print out notations for the songs made from cakewalk software. I like to know how to convert the
scores from cakewalk midi flies to sheet musich for the website for saving and printing.

Use acrobat distiller to convert midi files to acrobat reader files.
Before you use acrobat distiller be sure that you have installed a (virtual)Post Script Printer to make it
possible to make pdf files.

If you have done these things, print the sheet music with the PS printer to a file.
When you see the window to save your file, please rename the extension to ps instead of prn.
double click on the exported file and Acrobgat Distiller will automatically convert the file to a pdf file

MP3 conversion to disk

You can use the free download software named SCMPX, with this software you can transform WAV to MP3 and MP3 to WAV (AUDIO format to burn CD)
One way you find this software is in the www.google.com and in the search file type SCMPX

No sound from audio cd ?

I had to re-install Win 95 on my P233mmx, there is a test of audio on cd-rom which worked ok. I have since reloaded Cubase 3.5, Cool Edit Pro, Fruity Loops 2.54
and QuickTime 3.2. Now when I try to play audio cd, there is no sound. If I plug a headphone into the cd-rom jack there is sound. I have done all the usual checks in Volume Control etc. to no avail. Any ideas please ?.

Just one more question, what is the default player/application for AIF, AIFF, AIFC on Win 95, the default has been overwritten by Quick Time 3.2. ?.

Midi hookup

I have just got my keyboard hooked up to my compooter. The MIDI out to the keyboard works but I can't get any response on the MIDI in. I do not understand about com ports and IRQ's. can anyone help. Merrick

Delay when using vsampler/any VST instrument.

I have installed the demo version of vsampler but I can't seem to get rid of the delay when playing through cubase. When I open vsampler on it's own I have a choice of output ports and then it's ok when I choose my sound card. When I open it in VST it's only the VST port available and there is a large delay. I have played around with ASIO settings but cant seem to sort it. The delay seems to be with any VST instrument.

This is normal. It's a latency issue that you can't really get rid of. To get around it I record the notes i want to play using a standard sound then change the output to whatever VST instrument i want afterwards. I hope this helps.

Discovered it by accident (how else). It's the Antares pitch correction devise...the hardware piece is an ATR-1. Also comes in software. Actually, it hard to NOT get that effect with it.

It is not a vocoder as previously stated. It is called a harmonizer. Digitech has a low end harmonizer for under 500 dollars, but she probably used a studio quality model, such as an Eventide which is between 5 and 10 grand.

Buzzing Guitar Amp Problem

Can anyone suggest how to avoid the humming that a guitar amp emits? Even without anything pulgged in (except of course the power) a annoying hum emits that obviously gets amoplified by the mic or leads?

Tim,
What amp are you using? and is the problem there no matter where you plug it in. I had this problem many years ago on a pa and had to incorporate a hum filter into the mains circuit to get rid of the earth hum.

As a professional concert sound engineer, I must add that earth loops, common on P.A. systems, are a totally different story and should have no relevance to the simplicity of a guitar amp setup. The lack of a good earth would be your primary consideration in the cause of this problem and must be checked thoroughly (preferably by an experienced electrical engineer) as your life could depend on it. However, many guitar amps are not designed to hi-fi quality and a slight transformer hum is common. If the noise gets worse when you have your guitar and effects pedals plugged in, then faulty cables and earth loops could come into the equasion.

i just got an Opcode digital in/out with usb for my vs-1680. it only cost like $35.00 at guitar center. you plug it into your usb port it has spdif ins and outs just like the ones on the back of your vs-1680. you probably need some kind of software though.
