Re: Burnt CD won't work in car

make sure you arev burning sdr and not cdrw cds because that happened to me

Re: Burnt CD won't work in car

Are you using CD-RWs? Some CD-RWs (re-recordable) will not work as audio CDs in some CD players. It depends on the CD player really. Best to use CD-Rs.

CAN ANYONE HELP? I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS A WAY TO MANIPULATE SAMPLES ON THE 2000 WITHOUT MAKING THEM SOUND DISTORTED. I KNOW I COULD DO IT ON A COMPUTER THEN RELOAD THE SOUNDS INTO THE 2000. BUT AFTER PAYING SO MUCH FOR THE

Help!? Roland 880 interface with mac?

What choices of software do I have if I want to interface a Roland 880ex with a Mac?
Also is there any way to convert rolands files into wave?

What's the best way to make a mix?

I don't know anything about cd copying but maybe someone can help me. I want to take 20 seconds samples out of 6 songs that I have on a cd. Then I want to put them together on one track. After the first 20 second sample plays I want it to fade out and then fade back in to the next 20 second sample song, on so on. Can I download some kind of program to help me do that. Please don't use any complicated computer terms. Thank you.

Re: What's the best way to make a mix?

This is how i would do it:
I'll try to keep it simple:
With a cd-ripper (check free downloads on smm) you can copy whole songs from an audio-cd and save them as .wav or .mp3 (or other). Then use an audio-editor (e.g. wav-editor, which shows you the wav as a graph) to cut out the 20-second parts you need. Then: in a mutlitrack-editor/composer, such as Sonic Foundry ACID, you can put all the samples together and fade in and out (and more, more, more) and finally saving it again as a .wav, .mp3 etc.
I hope this was kinda helpful, or else feel free to contact me.

saving .rm files

this is driving me nuts. I click on a link to a .ram file, and as expected a video starts streaming. But their is no way i can see to save the .rm file, which is the real McCoy, to my hard drive. I've tried FTP to the host that has the .rm, but it won't let me see the directories that contain the .rm files. HELP Email only please.

Have you tried looking in the directory C/windows/Temp. Most files get stored there, so they load faster the next time you view them. Just a suggestion. And if you want jpg and gif images for web pages etc. That is a great place to find them.

Music composition software

I am looking for a good music composition software. Your recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Re: Music composition software

I am wondering if there is a program where the chords of a melody that is played on a keyboard can be transcribed into notes? My husband is trained in Schillinger system and has many years experience as pianist, arranger and composer but is new to using computer. He has been "writing" every note and lyric manually, with the music programs he has, for multiple instruments. I thought there might be software programs to make the process easier. He insists there couldn't be. Any suggestions on what software to check out?

Re: Music composition software

I just got a digital piano -- a Korg -- and what I'm looking for is software that will let me play something on the keyboard and have the computer do the notation.
I'm not looking for something to do the harmony for me -- just something that will record accurately what I am playing.
Does such software exist?
I've done a search but there are so many possibilities -- and so little specific info -- that I don't want to start downloading demos without some direction. I could do that till the end of the year!!
Thanks to anyone who can help
Janey

Re: Music composition software

By music composition software, what exactly do you mean? There is music notation software, sequencing software or algorhythmic composition software?

Maybe elaborate on what you're looking for

Making electro and hip-hop on PC

How to produce hip-hop/electro/freestyle beats using soft synths, grooveboxes and software like Fruity Loops, Moonfish, Tuareg and so on. I mean tips and tricks about using effects and dynamic processing - you know... I'm intersted in producing something between Dynamix II - Aux 88 - Wu-Tang and so on - a mixture of phat beats, cold electonic soundscapes and strange sounds... Thanx!

How to break one .wav into many

I have a 74 minute long mix that I would like to break into 17 tracks and when played on a cd player it would sound like one long song. How do I split it?

Re: How to break one .wav into many

: I have a 74 minute long mix that I would like to break into 17 tracks and when played on a cd player it would sound like one long song. How do I split it?

I have tired it with some audio editors and it never cuts the tracks precisely. So if you could tell me what audio editor I should use I would appreciate it very much. Thank you

Re: How to break one .wav into many

CD Wave Editor is designed to split CD and LP recordings into tracks as they are recorded but it will also allow you to manually add split points, and then it will write out the audio segments between split points as separate WAV files. Good value too - Shareware (US$10)

Hope that is what you are looking for. PS. We plan to write a tutorial for this process (making a mix CD), so if you find the above program helpful feel free to let me know how you went about making your mix CD.

Re: How to break one .wav into many

Split the WAV into the segments (tracks) with an audio editor and burn using Disk-At-Once burning.
