decoding software
is there any software that converts a musical input from a mike or a tape deck to annotated musical text(notes on a staff)?

conversion kawai q80 to midi
: Is there a piece of software available, whether it is shareware or to be purchased, that will allow regular midi files to be recognized by the kawai q80 sequencer or the yamaha rx-7 rhythm programmer. Both of the units use song file type (.sng).

cd audio conversion
Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to import and convert cd audio using pro tools 5.0.1 on a PC platform. On a Macintosh the option is available under the movie menu in the tool bar. The movie menu is not on the PC version.
Any idea.

Need help - Adaptec CD creator - I'm new to this
I am planning to burn my first cd soon but need some help in getting started. I want to play cds on the stereo and in the car, but am pretty sure mp3 files won't work in the cd player. I'm guessin I need to convert the mp3 files to wav files. I bought a 3-pack of cds that hold up to 80 minutes of music. So, do I need to convert the mp3 files to wavs before pulling them up in the Adaptec software or some other way? And, if I want to widen the stereo image (such as widening songs that have very narrow stereo to start with) can the adaptec software do this? If not is there some recommended freeware I could use to do this? Also looking for recommendations on freeware for converting mp3 to wav. Thanks in advance.

IWANT TO KNOW WHY WHEN I PUT A BLANK CD IN BURNER TO MAKE A COPY THE BURNER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IT IS IN DOES NOT LIGHT UP AND IT POST PUT IN A BLANK TAPE IN. I can't use Jewel Case creator unless immediately after burning a CD. In otherwords, through the burning itself.
I get the message that the program has performed an illegal function.
I am using version 4.

Adaptec won't widen stereo, or convert... at least not that I know of. i found an MP£ to WAV (and vice versa) utility at WWW.Download.com
It is called "Rightclick" or something and is very simple. Right click on the MP3 file from desktop and the utility places an option in the right mouse button menu inviting you to convert from one to the other. then, simply drag the converted file to your Adaptec CD window, and press create CD. Simple. Good luck.

I have to create a CD. I am having a HP CD Writer Plus 7200 Series. The size of the CD I want to creat is 840 MB i.e about 85 Min. But Creator restricts me upto 650 MBs only. What do I have to do. Please advise by return.

i've downloaded some songs onto an MP3, i can't get them on to the CD creator to copy them, how do i do this? plz help!!!

Same problem with me , guys... will SOMEONE please tell me what to do? I tried to convert the files to midi with .mid extension , and it is playing on the winamp player , but the instruments are changing ( mostly to piano). PLEEEAAAZZZZZ help me out.. appr. yr help :)

Well I beleve there is a program call Orion that works on both PC and Mac. I could be wrong but check it out. The PC version is solid but its not quite as easy to pick up as fruity
WAV to MIDI
I connect my HI-FI equipment to my computer and I will like to know the best way to copy the music files to my computer and program to convert WAV files to MIDI.

Hi, I have a Casio CTK-731. It's a great keyboard but I would like to get hold of a listing of the synth envelopes (PCM, amp & pitch)and their corresponding numbers on the display screen of the keyboard. Would make synth sound modelling a lot easier. Any help much appreciated!

The reverb in a song is impossible to remove. Go to the link posted for a free vocal eliminator, though. There is also an explanation of how it works.

Hi I am not a singer nor do I do kareoke. I am a hip hop and techno DJ who is interested in furthering my music. In regards to hip hop/ rap music, I would love to be able to transform all my records and cds into instrumentals, and real-time would be even better. Also if the process can be reversed where the vocal is extracted and the instrument eliminated, that would provide accapella which could then be mixed to other instrumentals. The doubt I have in this is that with rap music the vocals are not really sang, but more said, and there are lots of backup and support vocals.

If you can find an MS Matrix encoder/decoder (Waves have one as part of the Native Power Pack), this processes a stereo file into L+R and L-R, putting L+R into the left channel, and L-R into the right channel. Because vocals are usually mono, the right channel (L-R) does NOT contain the vocal, rather it has the keyboards, and any other stereo material. Unfortuately, you lose a fair bit of the drums (which are usually mixed in the centre), but the advantage is that you mostly keep the backing vocals, but you do end up with any reverb over the original vocals (because most reverbs are stereo).
This isn't always a bad thing, at least the reverb will be in tune 8-)

try vogone 2.0, i think this is a good program and even the modern day songs vocals can be removed pretty good, Liberty City is a good song.
Deleting wma files
I have acquired 3 wma files from downloads on napster, but cannot delete them. The files are write protected. Can someone tell me how I can delete these files?

I assume you got the .wma file in a napster download. Here's what worked for me. First you must close napster completely. You must do this by clicking file (upper-left-corner) and then clicking exit. Closing by using the "x" in the right corner doesn't cut it here. Then, proceed to windows explorer -from the desk top click start, programs, window explorer. Once explorer is open - click program files, then click on the napster folder. Click on the folder where your music is stored, probably "my music" or music. Now find the songs that are in .wma format that you want deleted. Left click file then right click on file, click properties and uncheck the read only box if it has an "x" in it. Now simply right click that file and click delete. It goes to the recycle bin. She's gone.

All that you have to do is "EXIT" Napster. Don't click the "X" in the top right hand corner. That just minimizes Napster and it's still running in the background. Instead, click the "File" button in the top left corner of your Napster window and click "EXIT". This will allow you to delete or move your WMA files. Bill

I have some wma files that are not archived or read only, but they still won't delete. Any ideas?
