PRO Digital 1200sl
Anyone know where I can download any version......be it trial or other of the PCDJ PRO digital 1200sl. The website doesn't offer the trial version of the PRO edition....anyone know any good sites/ftp's?

convert Audio tape to .CDA
I have some cassette tape of 24 lectures that I would like to record onto a CD that I can play in my automobile. Does anyone of any suggestions. I am using a Sony CD rewriter aand I also have a sound blaster live sound card and a all in wonder video card. I didn't know if any of the devices would help.

Well, theres a shitload of stuff. Ill assume you know very little and have less than thousands to spend on this. You need software and hardware.
cheap software-
n-tracks:multi tracker that uses vst and direct x plugs. Just because software is cheap doesnt necessarily mean its bad,it just means the companies selling the expe\nsive software are charging too much for their 101010101.
orion-a software package consisting of a sampler, analog, sequencer, drum machine and lotsa goodies.
not so cheap softyware-
logic audio-this can be a fantasy manifest, or a nightmare. In otherewords a tweakheads delight.If your intelligent its no sweat, and perhaps the best.
cakewalk- user friendly, affordfable, and all
around solid. the newest version, sonar should make it more serious piece of work
cubase- I once heard said of cubase that it would be the greatest audio app ever if it worked. While version 5 is more stable, on pc it is not bug free( no app is, but most are stable). It fares much better on mac thankfully.
pro tools- comes bundled with digidesigns hardware packages. It is the most solid thing going. Its very intuitive and straight ahead. Probably the best for audio. For midi its a bit weak.
Digital Performer- This is mac only. Its probably got the best balance between audio and midi. Lots of people rave about it.
vegas- is good for the audio editing
also-
acid and fruity loops- I dont feel like explaining all this. do a search and find out what theyre about.
soft synths-
reaktor,reason, orion, gigastudio, vaz modulator and many many more
hardware-
soundcards- rme,echo,midiman,motu,sea sound,egosys,aardvark...
cheap soundcards-
* Hoontech...
*sb live- not good for recording audio, but it has a built in sampler.
moniters-alesis makes some affordable ones
reverb-lexicon all da way
microphone- the sure sm-57 is the swiss army knife of the audio world. the audio technica at4033, or rode nt's are condensers wich are generally nicer sounding than dynamic mics(sm-57).Neumanns are a little pricier but worth drooling over.
pre amp-get a mixer at first for pre's. But even a presonus bluetube or art mp will give you more in this department. Also the midiman audio buddy is dirty cheap and rather clean. For a little more the presonus mp 20 or focusrite voicemaster are nice.
mixer-analog, or digital? I dont have the energy currently to hold a dielectic discourse with myself on that subject. In short, mackies are good for the price.
So, its time to break out the rollaids and ponder emptying your bank account. Moniters, the soundcards, microphones, pre amps, and the instruments used are very important. The software isnt as important, so until you feel good about your hardware id reccomend:

you couldh have charged $50 for this advice and I still would have saved $$. This was a stumbled-upon find, and worth the effort u took to send it.... thanks

use ACID IT'S A PIECE OF PISS!!!!!!!

It's called a multitrack program.
Most of them can do that.
You also need a FULL DUPLEX sound card.
That means that it can record and play at the same time.
Have fun searching the web.

Good quality MP3?
Hello. My house parties are slowly taking a toll in
my CD collection. So now I'm in the process of putting
my CD collection in my PC as MP3 in order to
avoid scratching the CD's more.
My question is what is a good fomrat for MP3? I have
been listening to the standard 128 Kbps, but I beleive
the quality is not that good. Ok my point is, since I
have a big HD (30 GB) I can afford to use some space in
some what larger and better quality MP3's.
But what is best??????
I'm usning Audiograbber 1.62 with a LAME MP3 encoder
that gives me an MP3 maximum mode selection of:
VBR-1(~210Kbit),44100hz, Joint Stereo
This makes a standard 4.8 MB MP3 song be more like
7.5 MB.
My question is If I'm using my PC as a Jukebox, what
is best for MP3 format?

hey i use a program called cdexcdex. it will do manythings. I have been using it for quite some time. If you would like I will email it to you or let you get it from my ftp server

well, this is it... if you can play the sound file,
then you can convert it. how ?
if you can play it, then you can record it. if you can record it,
then you can also save it (probably as a wav or mp3).
there's plenty enough free software online for recording.
most sound editing programs can also record.
what you need is a way to route your playing sound
directly into your recording programs without having
the two different programs argue over who gets control
of the sound card drivers...

Hi Harvey, I am interested in the steps. Please send me the steps. Just one thing. I know about the Real Jukebox steps. When my rmx files were recorded I did not save the code. When I installed the new real audio it wiped out my older jukebox and everything else. Now I have the rmx files that cannot be played at all even with the real audio or jukebox. What is the solution. Please reply.

hi, i need to know how to convert my rmx files to mp3 files. reason being i want to make some cds and cant use any songs that are rmx files. are you able to email me the steps to convert them pleeeeease:)
