Re: Anyone already tried Tuareg 2??

Great review! Thanks.

: Tuareg is by far my favorite audio program. It's a lot
: like the hit Rebirth, on the Mac, but it's got lots more to
: offer. The main trick is learning to do stereo on Tuareg.
: Basically, what you do is create a track, duplicate it,
: and pan the duplicate opposite to the original. If the tracks
: are different in any way, you have instant stereo. It's
: not so hard to do. The RAGE and BLISS windows are very accommodating.
: Also, during WAVE file importing, I always let Tuareg split the
: stereo files into left and right halves so I could use left
: for the left track, right for the right track. Very easy.

: In addition, Tuareg can save your custom panning schemes.
: This is totally cool, because with the click of a button,
: you can flip the pan to the other side.

: Naturally, all the beat splicing options are great for
: editing, and since you can save all your tricks, you
: can use them over and over again and create new variations.

: Tuareg is one of the most efficient tools I've ever used.
: It's also not bad at BPM matching if you get used to it.

: The built in echoes are also nice for deep stereo delays
: if you use different echoes on each channel.

: I did all of my best electro songs on Tuareg (the FAT version)
: . I used it for synthesis and composition and sequencing
: and some editing. After I made some big song chunks, I'd
: render them to WAVE files and import them into Cubasis VST.
: Many times I'd convert those WAVE files to 48kHz first using WaveLab Lite (or another editor), since Cubasis
: can run at 48kHz. Once in Cubasis, it wasn't hard to match the BPM (type it in)
: at lock it to the measure grid. Then I could layer more tracks,
: add VST instruments, and plenty of nice VST effects. With
: the 48kHz sampling rate, my effects and VST instruments were of
: a slightly higher quality than if I'd just used plain 44.1kHz
: WAVE files. After some nice fun cutting and pasting and overdubbing
: and resampling, and vocals and EQ, I render the final mix to a
: 48kHz WAVE file and clean up the intro and ending and any
: special parts using WaveLabeLite (comes with Cubasis).
: WaveLab is quick to convert back to 44.1kHz cleanly, so I'd do that
: and burn to CD. Later on, I started using DDCLip Pro as
: a final step before the final 44.1kHz pre-CD file, since DDCLip can
: use 32bit 96kHz files and has built in effects and very easy
: overdubbing. It also has very good dithering and EQ and mastering options.

: So, even if i did all this cool stuff in Tuareg at a mere 44.1kHz,
: I still accomplished a lot at 32bits 96kHz (effects and overdubs).

: I actually noticed a huge improvement in sound quality.

: If you give up on Tuareg and seek something better, you
: are missing out on a lot.

: Other good tools to use with Tuareg:

: Amen (breakbeat tool)
: Hammerhead (beautiful drum machine)
: SimSynth (great synthesizer)
: Moonfish (odd but kinda interesting)
: AnalogX AutoTune (tunes/converts samples to pitch)
: HOG (32bit effect processor freeware with Vocoder)

Re: Anyone already tried Tuareg 2??

I've tried Tuareg 2.Kinda complex but fun.But i don't like bout the tuareg 2's Fm synth and the animated what what modelling shit.Bram bos should have done better anyway...

Re: Anyone already tried Tuareg 2??

: Great review! Thanks.

sure looks great! I'm downloading right now.

Convert RM to CDA

I recently installed a TDK velocd CD burner on my HP Pavilion 6535. The burner works properly when I copy a CD (using TDK's Digital MixMaster4.5) to my hard drive and then burn it. Since much of what I want to burn on a CD can only be downloaded with Realplayer, in RM format, I need something to help me convert my downloaded files into the CDA format. I hope that I can then drop it into Digital Mixmaster and burn it???. Thank you in advance for helping.

Re: Convert RM to CDA

You need RealOne Player

Hi,

You can use Total Recorder to capture the sound. To explain further, with total recorder you can capture the realplayer file as its 'playing', and then save what you recorded as wave, which then gets converted to CDA once its burnt as audio CD. I am not sure if a .ra to .wav or .ra to .cda exists, but this is the only method I know of which can help you get the job done.

Hopet hat helps,
Hish

how do i copy cdgs i have roxio easy cd creator i can copy vcdg but not cdgs can copy the music but not graphics

Check the help files here...

Lots of good information on converting and burning CDG!

CD + G troubleshooting

Your CD drive must be able to deal with CD+G and other
"subcode" formats. Not all CD players and recorders and
CD-ROM drives can do that. Many can't, in fact. Even if your
CD drive can create a CD+G disk, it might not be able to copy one
because it can't read the more detailed information.

I could be wrong, but check it out.

converter

i need a mp3 to .wav converter. please

Re: converter

: i need a mp3 to .wav converter. please

Hi,

There are MANY mp3 to wave convertors. I can suggest a few, but the ones I know of and use are not just convertors, but its one of the functions these software can preform.

Cooledit pro
Spectrum Analyzer Live Pro
Soundforge

You can search for more at <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/FORMAT_CONVERTERS/">Hitsquad's Format Convertors Software Library</a> You may even find freeware that does the job.

Hope that helps,
Hish

converting casset tapes to cd's

i just need to know how to convert them and if you need a computer program or what k thank u!

Re: converting casset tapes to cd's

You'll need two programs, one to do the recording (Cool Edit or similar), then one to burn the files onto CD (Nero, Easy CD Creator).

Then it's just a matter of connecting the tape deck to the sound card.

Need Help with this one

Hello,

My name is Ofir Nafkar,
In 2 months will be a regional music compatition (at August the 30) at my city , & I have to choose one song to play at the competition. But i have very big problem - what will be the right track to play there, the best one?
it is very important cause the winner will have a prize: a real full Disk realese. also they want to release a big collection, 4 cd’s. and if i win i can suggest
any artist I want to this Mega Collection.

if you help me, maybe i can help you too. for example if you have music i can
suggest your music for the collection.

My doubts are whether to choose:
1. SOMENADA
2. ABOVE THE CLOUDS
3. NIGHT RIDERS
But it can be any track.

look at
http://www.mp3.com/nafkar

your opinion is very important & I insure you, to help you and do something good for you in everything I can.

I have suggestions for this kind of decision about choosing song

I think that you should play your songs on a big variety of speaker
systems to find out which one sounds best on the most variety of systems.

It also helps to play your music for people who don't really listen
to your style of music very much. Anything that they find annoying
is probably a bad sign. Also, if they like something a lot, it's probably
a good sign. Also, if any song is too long or too short, if you don't
edit it to be just right, you shouldn't use it. If a song is too long,
maybe the changes aren't coming fast enough. Some people might get bored
with it. 3 minutes is usually a minimum song length. 5 minutes is usually
a maximum song length. 4 minutes is about right, but 3.5 minutes is good
because you can focus more energy into a bit less time.

I hope it works out for you. It's all good.

Hitsquad Update June 21 - 411 Updates + more

Howdy Folks,

This week we updated 411 software listings in the
<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/">download area</a> of this site.

At the start of the week we had 100% of all download
links in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win3/">Windows 3.1</a>, <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/os2/">OS2</a>, <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/atari/">Atari</a>, <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/dos/">DOS</a>, and <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/beos/">BeOS</a>
areas working for the first time in a long time.

It's very rare for any download site like this one
to have more than 95% of downloads working at any
one time due to the nature of the Internet.

We are presently working on achieving the same high
result for <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/">Windows 95 to XP</a> and <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/">Macintosh</a> downloads.

There were a number of other exciting developments
here during the week but I'll save them for my next
update report so stay tuned....

<a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/webcam/">Jason Horton</a>
Hitsquad CEO

and that is why Hitsquad is the best! ;)

Great! ;) That's why Hitsquad is the best! ;)

.....

The file area here has always impressed me. The fact that everything from Atari to Macintosh software is fully supported is exactly how it should be. I still think steinberg should allow you guys to post Cubase for Atari free of charge on your site though. It's amazing how many people still want it but have nowhere to buy it from.. anyway... well done also...
