What if DPS12i compare to VS880EX-I f same price?

Hi, I am looking for a good digital multitracker and I recently found Dps12i and the VS880Ex with extremely low price which is 740 pounds and 749 pound respectively, of course both of this machine do not including the optional effect board. Which one is the best buy? Why? thank!!

Combining wave files from the command line

Help!

All I want to do is to combine 4-5 wave files into a single wave file (space / filesize is not an issue) but I want to do so via a batch file generated by a system I am developing. Is there anything out there cabable of doing so. The quality of the end result needs to be of high quality and there are no issues in terms of editing being required.

Any ideas?

Bill

need help

a friend of mine wants to know how to add words to her karaoke cd's if there is a program for it or something if you can help it would be real nice thanks

Re: need help

Since CD's are write once, with one exception, you cannot alter the data that is on the CD, if you can find a CDG editor for PC, then you can copy it, edit it, and burn it to another CD, but you probably need a special format for burning them.. however, nobody here is sure yet what "formating" is used to make CD-G's.

Roland/Cubase incompatability

Hi,
I have a friend who is trying to load sounds down
from his Roland jv-1010 to cubase with no success.
Anybody got any Ideas. Does he need plugin for example.
I've searched the web to no avail. He was saying it
just converts them to GM format, which I guess means he loses
quality.
Thanks in advance
Shaun

how to convert RM(real player) to MP3?

Re: how to convert RM(real player) to MP3?

Try Cool Edit 2000. Personally I'd go from RM->WAV->MP3.

Record MP3 mixes on CD (or HD)

Hi,

I have been looking for a way to record my mixes with Virtual Turntables on a normal CD (that can be played on a stereo) or even on the HD and then transfer it to CD.

Is this possible and with which software?

Thank you for your time!

Leonidas

Re: Record MP3 mixes on CD (or HD)

: Hi, just record them as wave files then burn them onto a cd you must have a wave recording program on your puter
so open it and play the song back with your mp3 player to the wave recorder and then you have a wave name it save it there ya go

Help with VST Instruments

Excuse my Incompetence, but how do you get VST Instruments to make some noise? Got Atom, Neon, and a couple of others. Do you need to control them via a midi keyboard, or is it possible within VST? I er.. lost the manual. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lost manuals etc.

So... summing it all up: you stole software and
you're too stupid to use it. I don't see any
reason to help you.

Re: video and audio

Adobe Premiere is a good program, if you have the cash for it.. otherwise, Ulead is good, or Soundforge, which is a bit cheaper, or another good alternative is DDClip, good features, and very intuitive.

Multitrack Mixing

Hi.

I am looking for the highest quality software product to allow me to do multitrack recording of acoustic guitar, piano, vocals, and, possibly, at a later date, MIDI, and convert the final product to WAV or MP3 files and burn to CD.

What is the advantage of the more expensive Cakewalk Home Studio 9.0 vs. the cheaper Cakewalk Guitar program? And are there any better products than Cakewalk's?

Also, how do these programs compare to the new Groovemaker software?

Please e-mail responses to evancater@juno.com

Thanks for your recommendations!
Evan

Re: Multitrack Mixing

Pro Audio is definitely the way to go if you are serious. The Home Studio (which is cheaper than guitar studio, by the way) can only handle 8 digital audio tracks. Guitar studio does 16 (I think) and Pro Audio will do more than you or I will ever use. Pro Audio also has more filters and effects and includes many useful MIDI programs, whereas Guitar studio does not.

Re: RA to MP3 conversion

Once you convert them to wav, you need an MP3 encoder. such as audiocatalyst or musicmatch jukebox

m3u to mp3

How can I convert m3u to mp3?

Re: m3u to mp3

: How can I convert m3u to mp3?

Why would you want to? The fact is, you can't:
An m3u file is simply a playlist, it contains no sound in any format. Use quickview, or simply change the extension .m3u to .txt and you can see for yourselfthat it is a list of mp3 files and their locations on your hard drive. I hope this has made it clear for you.

need help with drum machine program for a pc

I am a cs senior in nj. I have to write an original program for my senior project next spring. I need help designing it and I want to do a drum machine. It has to be in C/C++. My professor knows little about music software, so I'm on my own. Can anyone direct me to good sources? I've played drums for 27 years (I worked after high school). GAry

Re: need help with drum machine program for a pc

Sound sources: www.analoguesamples.com

Ideas: download some software like what you want to make and decompile it and see how it works.

Re: need help with drum machine program for a pc

Musicians today seem rather sarcastic.

I presume "decompile" means either analze the object code, or reconstruct the source code with a "decompiler." I wonder what type of decompile errors I would get. WEll, at least it would take me to the exact line of machine code.

Converting MP3??

Okay I have a mp3's that I would like to burn onto a cd and be able to convert the file extension into regular cd audio so I can play the burnt cd in a car stereo or any stereo for that matter. Does anyone know of any programs that is able to convert mp3 into the correct file extensions so I can play them on a cd????
I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me of a free program that can do this.

Thanx in advance!!!

Re: Converting MP3??

www.winamp.com
get winamp, it is an MP3 player that also has an MP3 to wav converter in it. once you do that, you use the wav files in your cd burning program it will burn the CD in audio format using those wav files, if you select Audio CD in the burning program

Easy CD has problem with TotalRecorder

I recorded a .wav file with TotalRecorder. When I try
to add this file to "Easy CD", it said the file is not
"CD quality" and would not accept it. What's going on?
Thanks. cpan@uswest.com

Re: Easy CD has problem with TotalRecorder

The default resolution for a wave file is 44100 Hz, and the resolution of a CD is 48000 Hz, so chances are your wav file from total recorder is at 44100, so you'll either need to record it again at 48000 or upsample using awave or something.

HP9100+ recording audio cds

I have a HP9100i+ Sure Store writer and it has a big problem with recording audio cds.
It looks like 1 of 2 cds is messed up. Form a certain point on the cd there is no normal sound,
just fragments of it, something like random cut&paste performed by the recorder. All you can hear are glitches and tiny pieces of my songs. No software
reports any underruns or other problems so I assume it is a hardware problem.
Can anyone help me?

you just use this program:
DVDx 1.6 and thats all (download from softonic.com

Re: I want to make a VCD

As long as your DVD player supports VCD, I assume it does, then you need a cd burning program that supports VCD, such as Adaptec, or Nero, to name a couple. In the program there is a menu for making a VCD which has the necessary directory structuring, etc. needed for single video VCD's and multi-path, ones where you can choose different videos. THey need to be in eitehr MPEG or AVI format, I don't remember which... maybe it can be either one...
