Re: Why won't my cd's work?

I made sure the session closed and tried to convert the mp3 formats and still no luck. Then I went and spent $99 on a software program and I am STILL in the same position as before :(

why dont your Cds works coz your a dumb ass that is why u a mother fucking dumb ass

Re: Why won't my cd's work?-FIX

My session WAS closed and still didn't work on a Domestic CD player(but was working on my CD-ROM). Why? Because it was burned on a CD-RW, I burned the same files to a CD-R and it worked fine.
You are able to ammend to a CD-RW, which probably doesn't really "close" , making the CD unable to be read by a domestic CD player.

Closing

Hi,

Check that you have 'Closed' the CD.

CD burners allow you to burn information onto them and it's called a session. You can then come back to it later and burn some information onto it (and continue like this until the CD is full). The CD rom will read the CD but only if it is a multisession CD rom.

In order to play a music CD on a domestic CD player, the session must be 'Closed'. This will mean that your CD burner will not be able to record any more information onto it, but is necessary if you wish it to be understood by a Domestic CD player.

Re: Why won't my cd's work?

Napster saves the music files in MP3 format, which takes up less space on your hard drive. But your cd player can not read .mp3 files. There are MP3 players out there but instead you need to convert the file to a different format. I changed my .mp3 files to .wav format and recorded it thinking this would work but I did something else wrong. So I am just as frustrated as you probably are right now....

software

I have just started DJing and i have my own roadshow.
I need party "jingles" .
Also i need the software to be able to be able to record my own voice and then afterwards be able to manipulate the way my voice sounds. For instance :-
I want to be able to make my voice sound like a robot .

Re: software

Try this pre-formatted <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&method=and&format=builtin-long&words=vocoder">vocoder search</a> if you want to sound like a robot.

Additionally, a good audio editor like <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a> can do wonders if you want to make your voice sound different. You may also have luck in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/EFFECTS/">audio effects</a> section.

Cheers
Geoff

Music-Software

Hi, my name is Michael and I am from Germany.
I am playing guitar and singing in a band.
Now we have made a tape an copied it with on rack to CD.
Now I am searching for a software to put it from CD on
Computer and push it up and then copy it again on CD.
Otherwise I am searching for a software which makes my
computer to a studio, where I can sample, create drums
and percussions and copy it on a CD.
Can anyone give me a tip?
Thanks a lot,
yours Michael!

Re: Music-Software

try fruityloops for a sample based sequencer. It's great for making drum tracks and bass riffs. If you want a 'studio' to record your guitars/voice and input drums from fruityloops or any other loop creator then get Music Centre Pro - an excellent audio/midi sequencer from your home counter - Germany! Made by Data Becker - www.databecker.com It is very cheap, try the demo it's better than programs fout times the price.

TIP - a great site to explore the music software market is www.sonicspot.com - loads of demos to try 'Sampled' is free and may EQ your CD songs for you.

volume

Recording into my soundblaster card through mic input gives me such low volume. I put up all the recording and even playback volumes on the system, but nothing changes. It's just like I'm losing volume when I record though the sound card(my second one, too), though the CD plays fine and internet radio is fine too. Why would the sound cards lose volume? Again, this is the second sound card I've tried.

Re: volume

Sorry to hear u are having trouble. My onboard card also records very quiet with a stand alone mic. My solution is to input everthing I record live via a foutrack tape recorder which is thus used as an amplifier. There is no tape involved you understand just the 4tracks amplifier and the results are excellent so long as I use the 4tracks 'line out' not 'headphones socket' which is noisy.

For guitars u could get a little guitar amp and use that to boost your signal - might work with vocals too. Do you have microphone boost enabled?

Magix Music Maker 5

My first posting on this message board - hope somone can help.

I'm into amateur music editing with my minidisc player/recorder but am wanting a piece of (affordable) software which will allow me to remix an audio track through my cd rom drive.

I understand the Magix music maker 5 has such a remix function - does it do a decent job ?

Re: Magix Music Maker 5

I have MAGIX Music Maker 5. It's a very good program and I recommend it.

Maybe!

I'm not too sure but you could try the demo. Check www.sonicspot.com for music programs there are hundreds and many demos to try. Data Becker's Music Centre Pro is most excellent and 30 UK pounds. Don't know if it would do what you want though.

Recording internet VIDEO broadcasts

Ok, I've got Total Recorder which can record AUDIO played on the internet. Does anyone know if there's a recorder of some sort for internet VIDEO broadcasts?

record music by pc????????

Is there any software that I can use it like a recorder?I'd like to record my music (guitar, keybords, etc) by my PC but I don't know if there's any software that can permit me to do it!!!
Eventually I'd like to change the sound of my guitar with any effects of a software.
Do I need also a particular sound card???^
I've already had a sound blaster platinum!!!
Please help me

Re: record music by pc????????

Not only is there sofware to do this job there are actually so many programs out there that you could spend MONTHS, quite literally, checking them all out!

Lucky for you then that I know this area well and can give u advice!

OK you have clearly and simply stated your needs (guitar/keyboard) recorder which is excellent. Now these 'recorders' are actually called 'sequencers' so what you need then is an 'audio sequencer'. Now the best site to check out sequencers is www.sonicspot.com Here you can download demos of many to try them out before making a purchase. They range in price and infact some are totally free. However for just 30 UK pounds you can get a highly rated program called 'Music Centre Pro' which is a superb audio/midi sequencer with built-in effects. It is the nicest looking program around and as good as any other priced four times higher. As a novice you should not spend a lot of money. Gain experience with cheaper programs first.

Now you do need a soundcard but the one you have if it is not too old should be adequate. It needs to be 'full duplex' in order to be able to playback and record at the same time but most are nowadays. Download a demo and find out! Tip - after opening a demo of say Music Centre Pro available from www.databecker.com try to play the enclosed demo song. If you hear no sound open up the options and mess about with you 'output'. You need to select your soundcard as your output for sound to be heard! good luck

copying cds:won't play on my stereo

I used the CeQuadrat program on my pc, and copied cds, but they only play on my computer, the stereo cd layer says there's no cd there. I also used NTI cdmaker 2000 software: same story...help!!! I use cd-r discs, and the burner on my Compaq is an IDE-CD. HELP!!!!

Re: copying cds:won't play on my stereo

Please check your sample rate.It is very possible that you burn at a higer rate than 44.1 16bit.Therefore the cd was burnt as a wave file and not cda.always burn at 44.1 16bit.If not then check what format you burn at.pcm wav is good as well.other than that I am lost as well.

Re: copying cds:won't play on my stereo

Software...check you copy "audio for use in all cd players"....record on CD R only (not RW).."seal and close" at end of burning

mine are cda format and still won't play

i converted my .mp3's to .wav and they will only play on my PC not on a home or portable cd player.
I used Adaptec Easy Cd Creator v3.5a.

Re: Sound Recorder

if you're running on Windows there should be a basic sound recorder under Start>Programs>Accesories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder

If so it IS a bit basic so you can also try www.sonicspot.com where u will find many many free programs one of which is sure to meet your needs. Tip - an audio sequencer although for multi tracking will do what you want no problem but these programs can take a while to get to grips with!
