What is a cool song is subjective...

Go and search the net with something like Google and type in things like the name of the song, and then piano chords and such like.

3.0 is not compatible with XP. You need 3.5, but good luck getting it from GVOX.

I have found loads in places like OLGA (do a search).

Typing in the name of the song followed by tablature (sp) or chords seems to work quite well..

Well, to get quality on computer recordings you need some years on intensive practice.....

That is quite a big question that demands many questions from you.

1. What type of instruments do they play?
2. Do they all expect to all play at the same time?
3. How many of them are there?
4. Do they all want headphones?
5. What computer do you have?
6. what sound/audio card do you have?
7. what software are you using?
8. what other music hardware do you have (Mic's etc)?

To answer the couple you have thrown in. Don't worry about the reverb at this stage. You have many other things on your plate to consider. Mixing in headphones is possible but highly unadvisable unless you know the headphones performance versus a decent set of flat monitors. Headphones in the studio are good for two things.

1. Giving the performer a mix of the other instruments.
2. Stereo positioning of the instruments is truer than in any other monitoring system.

It's not even to do with the type of monitors that you will need, it's got everything to do with the recording itself. Crap in, Crap out..

If you get the recording flat, with all the right recording levels and through the shortest and best quality signal path to the recording device, then you can take that anywhere and mix it down. Get a crappy recording with all the wrong mic's, room sound and bad levels then there is no turning back...

TIP: If you have to record a whole group in one room and the band (more than likely) want to play together, then let them. Mic and line them all up and then progressively replace the instruments using the live take as the headphone mix. This isn't an uncommon way of working and to some extent eliminates the need for isolation whilst recording. If you explain the limitations of your studio (if any) to them, they will understand. They're Christians after all...!

MAC: Real Audio to MP3?

You might be able to use a program like MacAmp from subband. I don't know if RA allows it's streams to be used in other apps or not but you could try and insert the URL into MacAmp and find out. It has a record button to record directly to the HD to either Mp3 or Aiff.

If the RA file is infact an Mp3 although it only wants to be played using RA then get a program called SoundApp (free) and it will convert the file for you so you can play it in what you want...

illegal request errr duting in-cd (Nero)formatting

Anybody know what the error message means and how to correct it.It occuurs at the end of a physical format of a new cd using in-cd for packet writing using Nero 5.5. "illegal request error 00a8-0005-002c-2000"

Sorry, no but we get a similar one if we use discs that supposedly have a capacity greater than 650Mb

I bought Encore over 10 years ago, and am now trying to load it on a new computer (Windows XP Professional). It won't go past an error message: can't find the Anastasia True Typoe font. Any suggestions as to how to get around this? Thanks for any help.
