Re: using computer mic input

The quality depends on both the soundcard and the microphone, but I wouldn't expect miracles from it. The circuitry which handles the mic input isn't meant for digital quality input. I've always recorded to DAT first then digitised later. You'll also find that unless you're in a very quiet location, you'll pick up all kinds of background noise.

You can get microphone amplifiers to allow them to be fed into line-level inputs, and even amplified microphones, but the environment in which you do the recording is more important than the gear you use.

Need to record from cassete to CD

What equipment do I need to be able to record from my cassette recoder to my computer and then to burn my cd. I have CD creator 5.0, Nero 5.5, MusicMatch jukebox plus. I tried connecting to my microphone input to my computer but I do no know what software is available in win ME to record it. thanks Joe

Re: Need to record from cassete to CD

You'll need to connect the audio out of your casette deck to the LINE IN on your sound card. The Mic input isn't designed to handle high level inputs, only microphones. Then all you need is a suitable audio recorder (Cool Edit or similar). Record each track, save as a WAV file then burn to CD.

unable to write output file. the audio disk may be full

unable to write output file. the audio disk may be full.
anybody else had this message?

Re: unable to write output file. the audio disk may be full

I'm seeing the same problem on my PC. I have more than enough free disk space on two hard drives, and I get the same message when attempting to store the cakewalk bundle file on either drive. I have an Email in to SONAR support on this.

Re: unable to write output file. the audio disk may be full

"Audio Disk May Be Full" PROBLEM RESOLVED. In the SONAR manual they explain you can't exceed 2 GBytes for a Cakewalk Bundle File. So the solution is to use per project audio folder and files.

Splitting MP3

I have a 100 minute mp3 file. Is thre a software I can use to split it apart to different tracks?

Re: Splitting MP3

Check the file area...

There is a good file area on this website. Go looking around the Audio Editors link.
