cubase midi drums

Hi there.

Recently purchased Cubase 5 for the mac. Been trying to put different drum and symbol sounds into the VST LM4 bank but it wont recognise them???? Puttin them in as wave files!

Is this the right type of file ???

OR

Do I have to create a new drum map???

I need to copy my wav onto a 80 min CD

I am facing a problem which is that i cant copy my wavs files onto a 80 mins CD using easy CD creator4.

Is there any other solution than to buy another set of 74 mins CD's.

I use ECD4 and can use 80 min CD-Rs without any problem. Which
version have you got, and have you checked roxio.com for any
upgrades (there are three versions, 4.00, 4.02 and 4.05)

not certain but it could mean the CD is corrupt + the porogram can't install. so a write error from CD

Ummm... no, they do not, at least to the average consumer. Separating audio into the different instruments, and vocals is like trying to separate green paint into its original blue and yellow colors. There will always be something left behind. Vocal removers remove what is refered to as 'center channel audio'. They do this by comparing left and right channels, and removing all that is the same, or close to it, between them. Unless you have access to the origional studio recordings, you are out of luck.

free recording programs

If you want to do the job properly, then expect to pay some cash for great software. Honestly, you can do it all with an audio editor and a WAV->MP3 converter OR you can get some software to split the tracks off the vinyl, clean up the pops/clicks and then spit the songs out for burning onto CD. Go to the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/">front page</a> of the site and check out the audio editor and ausio restoration sections.

I read that csound is availible free from the internet but I can only find it for Macintosh. I'm using windows 98. If anyone knows of a site where I can download and/or get info on csound, I would apreiciate it. Thanks

MIDI TO WAV for free on WINDOWS ME/XP

After months of searchin i think i found an excellent way to convert midi to wavs with excellent quality for free. I have windows xp. Open up Windows Movie Maker. and select to record a narration. for the input change from microphone to stero input. THen i played my midi file in the windows media player, and presto it recorded as a narration through the movie maker. When i pressed stop, it saved it as a wave file and thats it. It plays back with great quality. Any other questions email me.

help with cd burning program

I just upgraded my pc and have learnt that my new cd burner isn't supported by CD Architect. I need to find a replacement program that will let me put CD track markers directly into the wave file, then burn it directly onto CD with the tracks in place. The only other program I have seen that does this is Wave Burner Pro but it is Mac only.

Any help appreciated.

I have cool edit pro but I've found it much to difficult to make a seperate file with base and add it to the Jurrasic Park song or any other songs? Any suggestions?

Use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/SonicFoundryAcid/">AcidXpress</a>. It's free and will make the process of adding a bass wav to the song a lot easier.

i haven't used Fruityloops but i know that using VSTs like Cubase and Orion you can make damn good sound. Orion pro for $99 is probably about as good as you can get, so see what the demo is like. and by the way, do you know what to do the best way to sell your music? Grateful for any help, linx

Is there a free downloadable software that could I use to convert the songs from the cd and insert them into into my website for a viewer to listen. The website software that I am using is Dreamweaver.

You'll need something to rip the songs from the CD to either MP3 or Real Audio. For the MP3 option, use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&words=musicmatch">MusicMatch Jukebox</a>. It's easy to work out. As for Real Audio (or Real Media), use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/RealProducer_Basic/">RealProducer</a>.

I would first try to find the MIDI file version of the song you want somewhere on the Net, try searching through Google. If you can't find it then try converting yourself using a CD ripper to get to WAV format and software such as Digital Ear, IntelliScore Polyphonic or AmazingMIDI - see the <a href="/smm/cat/FORMAT_CONVERTERS/">format converters</a> section - to convert the ripped WAV file to MIDI format. Be warned the process is not perfect..

Recording with CuBase - Correcting Audio Dropout problems

Hi all and greetings!

When feeding MIDI from Cubase MIDI tracks into my Korg Triton, and simulataneously trying to record the Triton audio output back onto an audio track in Cubase, I get constant pops and slight audio dropouts in the finished audio recording on the audio track (I mute all the MIDI tracks on playback). I've changed buffer sizes, sync settings, everything. Nothing corrects the problem.

I do not have this problem when recording any normal audio (wav files) straight into Cubase from any other source.

Is there just too much conflict when trying to send MIDI out and recording audio in at the same time?

The processor I'm running is a 700MHz Celeron with 256MB RAM, and I have plenty of clean, unfragmented HD space. And when watching the CPU and Drive usage indicator, neither of them are indicating that they are even close to being strained in any way when trying to do this MIDI/Audio multi-record.

When running the Sync and Buffer test for my sound card, (a rather generic one I might add) sometimes I get lost sync packets, other times I do not.

Anyone else had this problem, or know what the problem might be?

Just let the Virtos Noise Wizard process some old vinyls of mine. The result is very convincing, sounded much like mastertapes! Check it out under noise-wizard.com

Frutiy Loops 2.7 and Midi Sync with Sequencer

Hello all

I've been trying to get fruty loops 2.7 to sync with my midi sequencer (Evolution sound studio). I've tried several diferent ways either trying to get fruity loops to control the sequencer or fruity loops to act as an instrument.

Anyone manage this or got any good pointers as I'm not exactly sure how to get this to work

I know this sounds a bit obvious, Sarah, but have you tried reinstalling the prog? Does it still recognise your CDR?
