Sounds like we have a similar problem. I think I can give you some direction though. I'm trying to convert Roland 1680 files to .wav format for ProTools. After much research, the only way to convert these files (CDR backups) is to do a file restore onto a 2480 machine, which will convert the 1680 format to 2480 format, at whcih point you can use a built-in utility on the 2480 to save the project in .wav format. It also allows .wav files to be converted to Roland 2480 format for use on that hardware, then can be converted back again. Since I don't happen to own a 2480, I'm still looking for someone who is willing to do this for me on their 2480, or to possibly rent the unit from someone to do the conversions myself.
