This is a good program. I could maintain reliable data over a dialup modem. This program is excellent on a T1 connection also and it should be great on other high speed connections. On dialup I recommend using it instead of Getright even if it has no configurable rollback option. This program is very reliable without it. it has not ping and keep server alive features, but I don't think it's really needed for downloads.

Have you fouind a techniaue to convert rm files to mp3s? I sure could use some help to accomplish this also. If youy have an answer I'd appreciate some help.

Hi,
I'm hoping you can recommend the right software for my needs. I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I'm using a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 552w Pentium 4 with Windows XP-home edition.
Here's what I need:

Pc jukebox, or background music program, or an auto dj program

I need to be able to program the application to randomly play mp3's by genre. For example: randomly play 1 rock song, then randomly play 1 r&b song, and play 1 disco song every 5 songs.

My mp3 collection is organized by genres, that is I keep only like genres in the same folder, so it could possibly be programmed to play one song from the rock folder then 1 from the r&b folder etc. I don't want to create playlists. I'd prefer the music was randomly chosen to keep each session new and fresh.

Volume normalizer (one that works on every song unlike the volume normalizer on my Windows Media Player 9)

An auto fader that can start mixing the next song in at least 20 seconds before the current song ends

View song title and artist of both the current song and the next song to be played

Fast forward/rewind feature to quickly move through the current song

I absolutely don't need any broadcast features. I don't want to broadcast, just have parties with the perfect mix of non-stop music that does not require a human dj.

I hope you can recommend the proper software - I'm tired of looking.

Winamp 5 has the ability to play RMJ files, it also has the ability to out put to a file. Download a Winamp Plugin that enables Out put to a file, and let it play the files into MP3 format. It maybe slow, but it works.

how does this work - i have downloaded it but how do you get it to output the file to the directory you specify in the config? Do you need to run the output file somehow?
