I Give! Need help cutting erroneous data...

I have downloaded songs that have music/erroneous material before the song begins or after the song ends. I want to cut those parts out but I don't know how. Please help!

I have found the CDex - 130 software to be good at it job, and a very stable, yet a feebie product.

I also, use "White Tiger Studio Standard" to normalise all wave files, to keep my ears clean, and to keep the volume uniform as possible. The standard is a freebie, however it will only do one selection at a time... but for the price what can one say.

I'm having problems getting a downloaded program (say limewire, aimster, etc...) to open and install from the desktop. It asks which program to open it with (it's a .bin - nothing else dls), then can't run an installer.
Now I'm feeling like an ass, and that's not cool:)
seriously, any clue would be appreciated,

Not really... it depends on the player, wether or not it will read backups. I have found that Kodak or RCA work the best.

I live in Russia. In Russia all programs are free-of-charge, because are sold only piracy CD. 700 mbytes of any programs for ÐC, even newest costs approximately 1.5$. Any laws thus are not broken, because all is sold legally concerning the Russian legislation. Actually it is sold legally notwithstanding, it is the piracy versions. Whether is a crime, if I shall send any program for limits of Russia, if in Russia I shall buy it legally and without what or restrictions?

Kind of lost you at the end there.. Still trying to work out what you are trying to say...

I didn't know that Russian law permitted pirating of.. well... western/european copywrite material. I suspect they would want to make some money out of it somehow.

... Are you trying to ask if people think that selling the warez you have bought in Russia over in the countries that hold the copywrite law is held, is legal... I would say NO.

brazen disregard of copyright laws and look at your economy! lol - does it help your people have jobs then not allowing fair trade?

I DISAGREE with rip off software companies charging $800 for a cd of software but essentially a fair product for a fair price is a neccesity for everyone.

They are too expensive.

The decent studio idea is now resident in the bedrooms of many people but the software companies are still charging industry top wack prices to them and they ain't paying. I suspect their argument is (still ) that computer games can be £30 because of the user base's size. I think if they look at the Cubase and Logic (legal or illegal) user base in the home and in the studio, it's probably larger than this old theory admits.

After saying that, there are a lot of people that make good use of the cut down versions of programs like Logic and Cubase. They are generally in the price range of most people...

that's true Steve but sometimes those extra features you cannot live without! FruityLoops + Orion Studio lead the way in terms of pricing (+ fruity in the quality arena;). The big boys certainly must share some of the blame for the pirate racket. No way can working class kids afford cubase VST, halion, 2 or 3 vsti synths and a decent FX package - not to mention various sample cd's.

vst instrument latency?

i have a motu 2408 and when i use my vst instruments i have practically no latency. It is only when i press record is when i receive latency. Any reason why it does this? Thanks

XP burning software

When I try to burn songs to a CD using Windows WP's inbuilt burning software, it keeps saying next to the songs, "Will not fit." The CD is 74 mins and blank, so they must fit, what is going wrong???????

it starts off with a quiet little guitar riff, and then it gets heavier with more distortion and the lyrics come in at about 2 minutes into the song.
they are :
