All you need is winamp and a plug-in for it called innoreal_15. With that all you need to do is convert the file like you would any mp3 file.

I fixed it! I just went to an ftp site with the drivers for my sound card and manually overwrit msgloop.exe and another .dll file and everthing is working perfect! Thanks

I have been searching the internet, and i have not been able to find that .wav file. A search i conducted came up with an e-mail posting which had your e-mail. I was wondering if you could help me find it.

I am a guitar player with a sheaf of music, some notated, some in Tab, some charts (chords only in a staff). I'd love to put it into an electronic record. Any opinions on the best software for such a task?

Have a look at the 'Notation' section of www.sonicspot.com for program which can utilise bmp scans of tablature. However for guitar based music you may want to use an audio/midi sequencer like Data Beckers Music Centre Pro or Cakewalk Pro Audio.

Audio/Midi sequencers

THe basic piece of kit you need is an audio/midi sequencer such as Data Beckers Music Centre Pro which is highly regarded for it's excellent midi functionality and it's price - £29UK. As a beginner u could easily use this quality program for a long time before progressing to more complex and expensive gear. You also need a good soundcard such as a Creative Labs model which has good quality built-in midi instruments.

Basicaly midi (musical instrument digital interface - I think) is a data protocol with is used to send messages from say your sequencers midi tracks to a sound module/card where this data is interpreted and turned into audio instrument sounds - the better the module/card the better the sounds. Audio recording uses little sound clips of real instruments/drums which can be arranged into full songs just like midi. Audio/midi sequencers will allow you to crate songs with both audio + midi in them so u could use a real drum kit with real guitar and midi bass, clarinet and piano for example.

It's best to try lots of demos to see which programs u like before buying - try above plus Cakewalk Pro Audio, Cubasis, MicroLogic AV but these three don't have excellent midi facilities + will need the use of an external midi editor like XGEdit by Yamaha for very expressive midi instrument manipulation.

invalid password?

Question-I downloaded napster for macintosh and entered
my password and user name and it keeps on telling me invalid password? I try to change the password and it says you are not connected to napster so it will not remember your password, but it won't let me connect in the first place w/out my correct password.? Any sugestions on how to fix I would appreciate a e-mail. Thanks---

I had similar problems with Macster when I forgot my previous password. I eventually found my original password and username and it worked first time. I am wondering if it has something to do with the fact that they may not be excepting new users although the problem lies with the fact that the registration process is part of the software and can't just be removed by Napster. I could be wrong but it wouldn't suprise me.

Let me know if you get it sorted out. Try trashing Preference files for Napster and try again with a new registration.... that's about it for now.

I just downloaded the Pro Tools 5 Free multi-track recorder and I'm wondering how I can convert the PT5 file into mp3 format. I don't know much about multi-track recording software, but I'd like to learn more.. Maybe even buy the software if I can put it onto a CD-ROM. I'm trying to record a song for my mom for Christmas. Download the manual from <a href="http://www.digidesign.com/">www.digidesign</a>. What you need to do is "bounce to disk" This will put your whole mix into one WAV file. Chose convert after bounce then select WAV format. Then convert the WAV file into an MP3.

My CD player won't read my burnt CD's - Any Advice?

My CD player won't read my burnt cd's. It seems like it's looking for an information file on the cd and when it can't find it - it thinks there no cd in there.

I was wondering if there was a file I could burn onto the cd that would give the player the info it needs.

Some DVD Players are optimized for DVD; they can read
Audio CDs but NOT CD-R. Better ones have two laser
heads: one for DVD (shorter wavelenght) and one for
Audio CD. They are more expensive of course and also
more recent. 5Discs Changers usually use older
technology. First Generation DVDPlayers all had the
problem you encountered: unable to read CD-R...
Next time you buy one, try it with a CD-R that
works in a conventional CD Player BEFORE buying it.
