Hello,

The only professional solution to getting songs
without the vocals is to buy Karaoke CDs. You
can get these at places like <a href="http://www.karaokewh.com/">http://www.karaokewh.com/</a>
and there are many other businesses listed at
<a href="http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=karaoke">http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=karaoke</a>

I hope this helps,
Jason.

help finding bass clarinet wav or mp3 clips

My son wants to burn some bass clarinet songs or sounds to cd to play in his class tomorrow at HS. I've been searching the net and not having much luck. Pls email me at abqhusker@hotmail.com if you know where I can find some decent clips or songs featuring bass clarinet. Not picky about the format, it's just that I am familiar with wav and mp3. Dont know how to convert rm files or midi but I can find out on the net if I have to. Main priority is to find the bass clarinet clip first. Thanks to all for your time. I'm getting desperate here, lol.

reason sampler troubles

alright, i need some help. i'm using protools to edit samples, and then trying to bring them up on reason's nn19 sampler. for some reason, the tracks i bounce from protools don't come up as any of the options for importable samples.

please help.

Re: reason sampler troubles

I would look at the format that ProTools is saving using...

I think it should go smoothly with either '.wav' or '.aif'

Advanced PC karaoke question

As many may know, CDG decoders such as those made by Leader and Vocopro can turn an ordinary CD player with optical outputs into a CDG player. I currently run a Pioneer PD-F1007 with a Vocopro decoder- in effect, I have a 300 disc CDG player with this combo.

Lately, I have been toying with the CAVS and MTU demos for the PC (lets you play CDG's on the PC, assuming your hardware is correct). These are great little programs, and a heck of a lot cheaper than a CDG player!

Here is my question (this one is a doozy)... Is there any possible way to get the Pioneer changer, the PC and a CDG program to work together? That way, I could load up a disc in the changer and have it play on the PC with a program like CAVS or MTU. I would assume I would need a soundcard with an optical input...

Any takers on this question?

Ain't nuthin' but a +G thang, baby.

Yes, I'm sure there is a way, but I doubt that it is worth your time. You should do some online research on the SPDIF (S/P-DIF) datastream. This way, you could find out which codes are transmitted via SPDIF (optical). The most up to date information would probably come from the Audio Engineering Society. It is an internacional organization. They are experts in all things audio. They are also largely responsible for creating new audio standards. You should also get a little bit of info about AES/EBU CD transfers since AES/EBU is the pro version of SPDIF. Mayber there are devices/softwares for AES/EBU that might work for SPDIF.

What you should really ask yourself is this:

What am I trying to accomplish?
How could I accomplish this if I had unlimited money?
How could I accomplish this if I didn't have a computer?

These questions will lead you back to the CORE REAL ISSUES which are of budgeting time and results quality. <IMG SRC="http://totl.net/Eunuch/compinfreezer4aa.jpg">There are a great many simple ways to accomplish something extraordinarily complex.

Or, you could keep looking for a +G player that can hold multiple discs. Keep in mind that some gamemachines and dvd machines can do +G.

Maybe you simply need to rip all of your disks to hard drive files and sequence them with picture files using presentation scripting software.

mmjb "Registration for drag and drop failed"

Same Problem - Solution

: Same problem, Drag n drop reg failed causin a stack dump in MMJB 7.2 basic. anyone got a cure? email me plz.

I too had the same problem. As per MusicMatch the cause and fix is as follows:

Regarding your "Registration for Drag and Drop failed" error, we have recently discovered that this problem is the result of a software conflict. Software conflicts can sometimes occur when you have utilities and applications which launch automatically with Windows and run in the background. These are typically represented by icons in the system tray, next to the clock on the Windows taskbar.

Tracking down a software conflict is probably one of the more complicated things you can do on a computer. We can provide you with some basic tips, but we will not be able to give you step by step instruction on how to get rid of the conflict since there are so many possibilities. Please do the following to disable these background applications:

1. Close MusicMatch Jukebox.
2. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar and select Run.
3. Type MSCONFIG into the box provided and click OK.
4. Click the Startup tab.
5. Turn off the checkboxes for all items except for Systray.
6. Click OK. When prompted, restart your PC.

Try using MusicMatch Jukebox again. Does the problem still exist? If not, the problem is definitely caused by a conflict with one or more of the utilities that were starting automatically with Windows. You can try to discover the particular offender through trial and error, going back to the MSCONFIG Startup tab and enabling items one at a time until the trouble returns. We have received reports that the Encompass Monitor application, listed as ENCMONITOR.EXE or MONITOR.EXE has frequently caused this problem.

reducing the dynamic range of classical CDs

My main interest is classical music. I have many classical CDs. I also have an MP3 mobile player on which I would like to listen classical music. My problem is that classical music has a very wide dynamic range. I use the MP3 player on the train, bus etc and so this dynamic range is too great. I would like to use a compressor when ripping my CDs to MP3. I can't find any software that will do this for me. Any ideas very, very welcome.

Thanks

Encore 4.5 - GVox

How come no one answers the phone. I've ordered Encore 4.5 and never recieved it. Where's Gvox?

Re: Encore 4.5 - GVox

Apparently G-Vox has gone out of business. I hope that you did not pre-pay for your order. I have been following the site for about three months now and,as you no doubt have already discovered, few links work, and no phone answering. I, too, need a copy of Encore 4.5 (see below on a seapoerate post in this forun), but there seem to be no copies available anywhere. I have searched the Web for retailers, distributors and auction sites and have had no luck. I suggect you bite the bullet and get something else. Sibelius appears to be the best, but Coda's Finale has special pricing for what they call "competitive upgrades" and Finale will be able to import (and recognize) .enc scores, while Sibelius will not. You can download demos and get pricing at their respective sites.

Be wary regarding Finale importing .enc files - it's not 100% compatible/accurate

Re: Encore 4.5 - GVox

Hello,

I'm a lucky man. I've paid GVOX $ 79.99 ( a lot of money for an upgrate ) and I received the code from Encore 45. It works good.

If GVOX is out of busseniss may be I can help.
and I can " sell" ( share ) my code so that I have some little money back??

Re: Encore 4.5 - GVox

Hi, I'm interested in sharing your code. How much do you want?

reording part of a track

hi, does anybody know a PC software that can record all tracks of an CD from my CD-ROM drive, 30 seconds long at once?
thank you

All at the same time???

Do you mean all the tracks at the same time??

SteveR

Re: All at the same time???

No. but the software should record all tracks in one workflow. for example: 1. put CD in CD-Rom, 2. press record, 3. record 30 second of each song, 4. finished.

the output should be a wav file for each track.
thank you

Sorry then...

Sorry but I don't think I can help you. Sounds like some sort of fancy Batch Importer tool... Some programs might have this in the batch importing options. Audio editors and the like... not sure that it's not asking a little too much though... ;0)

Recording voice.

Sorry to appear dumb But I am new to this.
I wish to record voice only as in poetry. Nothing else just voice and use it in multimedia production.
First step is to get the voice down and then take the steps from there.
Any assistance with a suitable program would be appreciated.

Re: Recording voice.

A few points first.

1. What hardware and software do you already have.

2. What are your expectations of the quality to be?

3. What format do you need the final result to be in.

It should be quite simple. Get back to us with some more information

SteveR

Re: Recording voice.

Thanks for the follow up. On balance I think three hours in a studio should do the trick with less hassle at this end.

Re: Recording voice.

You shouldn't have to pay so much for that these days.

Good luck

I can't believe that you are all so stupid

If you don't know how to do any audio conversions by now, you are hopeless. I can't believe that there are so many complete idiots out there. This just proves that America got what it deserved on Sept. 11. Nobody can think for themselves. Everyone is just a bunch of atomatons. Wake up losers. I know that this will probably piss some of you off, but so what. I doubt that anyone will have the courage to say or do anything about it. If you have the courage you can e-mail me with your pathetic responses at:

Less bullshit, more KMFDM.

No one is hopeless. Every human matters. All unsolicited death is tragedy. All humans have potential, including musical potential. No one deserves murder, not even hostile people. Response is not pathetic, it is in fact, active. The victims around the world of 9-11 do not deserve their ills any more than you or us.

You should channel your energies into fighting fascism, racism and blind faith. I do agree with your overall implied sentiment that people need to be more mentally autonomous. I, in fact, encourage everyone to think for themselves and to find their own solutions via experience, research, and hard work.

Thanks for being honest. It takes courage to show emotion.

Such a poor attempt at trolling. But, hey, you said it all. That's beauty of having the so-called freedom of speech. You can make a git of yourself in public.
