Recording from turntables

hello.
i need to be able to record from an outside source (my turntables). i have the necessary cables hooked up, but i need a program (are there any free ones?) to be able to play the music or record it on my emac. someone please help....

Grab an RCA to headphone adaptor, plug into the back of your mixer, then from there into your PC (sound card)
If you don't have RCAs to headphone, use the headphone jack at the front of your mixer, and use a male to male connectors But if you do it this way, you can't hear what's coming out unless you have separate speakers, so use your computer at the volume control window, and un-mute the microphone or line in.

The best program is probably Adobe Premier/Cool Edit Pro

but if your confident enough that you don't need to edit it after or adjust levels, you can even use windows media player to record, or whatever came with your sound card. EX: Sound Blaster - Recording studio

Reason 2.5 factory sound bank help

I have reason 2.5 program disk and the orkester working just fine, but I dont know which name I need to use when I burn the factory sound bank. Ive used SOUNDCD and Sound Bank, but both have not worked. Hopefully there is someone that knows what name to use, or a way around it but still uses the soundbank. My aim name is cullensmithh if you find it more easily accesible then my email. any help would be appreciated!!!!!!

I am a drum loop producer stepping into the computer world. I bought a 1ghz g4 mac laptop and need to buy an interface and choose a software to work with. Any suggestions for an easy to use but great music software to go with-protools, cakewalk, peak, digital performer, cubsase, etc.. Also any interface advice is helpful

You can do this in Cubase sx.
Yust put the audio in one track, when the first ends, you paste in the next and so on. Then export to mp3..

Besides Cubase sx is there any other software that can do the same

I have Sound App 2.7.3 already; but I don't see midi on any of the menus. The page you directed me to mentions midi , but I don't see midi anywhere in the menus. Am I missing something? Thanks, Ron. I guess the new version of Harmony Assistant has this feature, but I have trouble with the ver. I have ; I get stuck in a stupid printer pref. loop and never get it to run. Melody Assistant is a lot of fun and I use it all the time......Ron

Connecting Tascam MF-P01 to P90

Hello!
I've got a Yamaha P90 Digital Piano, and I have just purchased a Tascam MF-P01, 4-Track Portastudio. Could someone tell me how to connect the two? The Yamaha Owner's Manual says: You can record your performance (audio data) to a cassette tape recorder or other recording device via the OUT-PUT connector.
Output consists of(L)(R)jacks (RCA phono jacks), (L/L+R)(R)jacks(phone jacks).
Currently I have Yamaha speakers connected to the P90 using the OUTPUT (L)(R) jacks.
The Tascam MF-P01 has a 1/4" jack to connect an audio source (instrument or microphone.) The source signal is sent to a recording track, as well as fed from the LINE OUT (L.R) and PHONES jacks.
Could someone tell me which OUTPUT jack to use on the P90 to connect to the 1/4" jack on the Tascam?

Need help buning file from cubase sl onto a cd

I have cubas sl and I have recorded several projects on it, but the file extensions for the projects are .cpr. Nero won't read the files so I can't burn it. I converted the files in to wav format but it is each individual track (guitar, bass, drums etc.) i need to compress the files so that i can burn them.

You need to export the entire audio tracks (MIXDOWN)
this will create one WAV file with the entire song.
Once in WAV Format, burn away........
